I have 1996 Vmax 600 xt which has the long track. I'm wondering how to get more ground clearance out of it. It seems when going threw any deep snow it wants to get stuck. It was thinking if the straps were extened that would help but not sure. Im brand new to snowmobiling. Also there is only like 2" of play if I pick it up. Any thing would help. Also any secrets in adjusting the shocks?
Thanks armey37

Help

So I tried today to adjust the two shock and I cant get them to adjust. How so I get the tension off the coil overs. I tried using ractet strap but no luck. Also can somebody explain to me what the two diffent shocks do. There one on the front of the track suspsion and one big one in the big what will any adjustment do to both of them???
Thanks Wes

if i remember right, on a 97 600 we had , there was an adjustment setting with regards to the tunnel and suspension height...

What I think I remember is that you can take the bolt out of each side of the tunnel, (aproxamatly a foot behind where you foot would rest on the running board) and you can drop the suspension down to the LOWER HOLE. THis will make the tunnel stick up taller. You will only be moving the suspension about .75 of and inch... but that makes the tunnel drag on the snow a lot less...

ALSO, I think if you lower the limiter straps you are basicly putting more weight onto the track and taking it off of the skis...which will be counter productive for what your are trying to do..(.correct me if I'm wrong on this guys)
