VMax 4 - What can you tell me?

I
I just picked up a 93 vmax 4, the snowmobile has 1541 miles, and is all original. I know absolutely nothing about this snowmobile, Can you tell me anything about it, Problems they had? Value? anybody want to buy it or trade for something smaller?

I can tell you that it is very heavy. But it is also the coolest looking sled ever. There was a guy on here to did a huge VMax-4 mod and it was very cool. Maybe he will chime in.

Sounded wicked with a turbo on it, like a dentist drill but they could really move.....a guy in BC had one with a turbo.

Quad pipes from Bender or AAEN (I think) really wake the sled up. Know a guy that rides a 95 (maybe 96?) that's done to an 880 I think, dialed in and it gave his 1085 a good run for the money. Smoothest motor ever made IMO.

Here's a pic.

My brothers and I had three 92' 750's. The were heavey but also a blast to ride. The quad pipes sounded the best but as for modding farther the reliability starts to get iffy. They were notorious for spinning the inner gears on the crank when you started to really push the ponies. Welded a set according to Benders instructions. Some days I miss mine. Not very often though.

my older bro has a set of aaen quad pipes, but I don't know if you deal with him or not;) I think they just need the stingers repacked; not totally sure tho. pm me if your interested. bruce

Don't get it stuck because after that you only have a couple options:

A) Call a tow truck
B) Wait for spring

heavy sled for montana, only real use is on a lake. i had two of them and the only problem that is comman is the front shocks(po-go). if the sled was ever wrecked the shock goes through the frame. so if the frame is bent ever so slightly, the shock will hang. that sled is heavy but fast on the top end. was ahead of its time back then. never had any problems with engine. one bone stock, with clutching, other was honked out. melted a few pistons but when you go crazy thats what happens. ride it and see if you like it. anything in the 2000 you cant even compare. :D:beer;:beer;:D

Jason Bussat has one. It used to have pipes and was big bored with nitros. Went real good. Now the same sled sports a turboed RX-1 engine. He's at the BDSO this weekend climbin with it. Good luck Jason.

Better get some helper springs for the trailer, or another axle.:beer;

Rode with one, once, it had some crazy power on the trail but it was not off-trail friendly. I think they'd be a good grass draggers.

sun 500lbs, 300+hp, R1 Turbo motor....ONE FAST V-MAX!!!

I have a 97' Mountain Max V-Max 4. It was ahead of it's time when they came out. I have never had a lick of problems with it. But it's more suited for lakes and strait line racing. The pull is un-believable. I don't know about calling a town truck when it's stuck but it is really heavy. Clutch work and quad pipes really wakes them up big time. Yamaha left lot's of hp on the table with the stock clutching and stock pipes.
