vholdr recorder

i just downloaded the vlm media player and now the hd works fantastic. now if i could only figure out how to get it put on my pinnacle studios movie making program

vlc?? not m? As to using it in pinnacle, you need to see if it can handle .mov files, at my first look, it seems that you can't.

The problem is that .mov is a proprietary codec, or rather it is licensed.

To use it in pinnacle, you need to convert it to another format that pinnacle will read.

Welcome to the joy of standardized file formats....

pinnacle cant handle mov files so im downloading a converter so it will change it to mpeg...i suppose once thats done though it no longer will be hd? this stuff gets kinda confusing

thanks for the input will be lookin into the vholdr hd..just dont think the go pro is what im lookin for.i need something low profile.i do lots of tree ridin.. bruski

^^^^same reason i also went to vholdr the cam is bulky and mounting is limitied while there are tons of possibilities with the vholdr, best feature is the lens lasers so u don't waste any good shoots.

after spending some time today working with it and downloading a converter software, it seems to work real well and the quality is great with them. It can be edited also with any program once its converted.. id highly recomend the vholdr contour hd unit

i think the name of it is OJOsoft total video converter. i downloaded the free trial version but it only converts 20% of the film so looks like im gonna be paying 28 bucks for the whole thing. it is very simple to use from what ive found

Dude, don't do it.... seriously... don't do it.. You shouldn't have to spend any money to convert the video...

Let me do some checking.. I think handbrake can do it.

yah, it looks like it can do it. It can format anything into anything. One of the best converter software programs around.

Though, you might want to do some reading up on the best format to convert to, especially when using HD.

Hope this helps.

Thanks to everyone that purchased from us.

Units are very durable and after 14 trips last season mine still works flawlessly.

You will not be disappointed with this camera at all!!

Yeah, like RuffRyder said, don't pay for a program, there's definitely something for free out there that will work.

look under help - user guide..

I have been looking further into this. All results seem to be pretty crappy for converting hd into something else. hmmm.... I might have steered you wrong. I know handbrake is very good at ripping dvd's into other formats, quickly and with great quality, but the conversions that I have done with AVCHD, which I believe is what you are using (720p hd) have not looked very good. I am converting into AVI and MP4.

Anyone have some better ideas? hmm.... I need to take a closer look at this. Sorry dude.

no worries, some of this stuff gets pretty complex and complicated. the best i found to work so far was avs video converter trial version but needs to be bought to convert everything first...oh well il just keep looking
