Sled finally arrived last week and I picked it up last friday. Been nice having a sled to tinker with over the week, thats for sure!

One thing I can't get over.... At first, I thought, this thing is gonna be a PAIN to work on, but have found it to be almost completely opposite of that. This thing seems to be the easiest designed chassis I've worked with. Anyone else think that?

Within just a couple minutes, the sides, hood and all are off and out of your way! I realize this isn't exactly pulling engines etc.. but that doesn't even look like it's gonna be that big of a pain if/when a time comes.

Yea, everything is buried, but just taking a couple minutes to remove parts that are in the way, it seems everything becomes fairly accessible.

Now, I just need to ride the d@mn thing!! :face-icon-small-ton

I think the hood should have some sort of a hinge at the front. That's just my opinion. I suppose its for the lighter factor, but I'm not to fond of the new fixed hood design. Side panels are easier than the last design though.

I can see that, especially for in the field..... But in the garage, i'd much rather just be able to put the thing aside and have it out of the way. All my past sleds, I've fought that as far as getting the hood out of the way completely. HATED working on sleds with the d@mn hood there...

bingo, they missed the boat on this one. a hinged hood would be a great feature. i liked that on my rev, for muff pot access and just laying stuff out to unthaw...

just got done installing electric start on my 11 rmk. very easy to get to everything, took only 1.5 hrs. to complete and i like getting rid of the hood you can work all the way around the engine not just the sides. way better than the doo's !

I like the hood as is, just pop it off to work on the sled..i'll agree that the hoods with hinge are a pain when working on the sled, even my edge chassis, first thing get rid of hinges and go to straps so I can remove it. Dragon hood was a major pain to take on and off.. pro hood is very easy.

I will totally agree that a hinged pannel on the side allowing access to the underhood bag and muffpot area would be really nice. Or a section of the hood that had a hatch in it.

Different strokes for different folks...

I prefer the hood the way it is so I can easily take it all the way off. I'm not crazy about the plastic pins though.

I guess I would agree on getting the hood completely out of the way for garage work. It would still be nice if there were some sort of quick release tabs instead of the torqx bolts, and those pesky plastic push pins, so it could be taken of without tools :face-icon-small-blu

coming off a doo and doing alot of work on them myself i noticed that there is alot more room to work on the pro. the exhaust springs are much easier to get at, i can reach right under the pipe if needed. it just seems to be laid out better, probably because its not canadian :canada:.

X2 lol the Pro is the easiest sled to work on that I have ever had, everything is laid out better and easy to get to. I prefer the hood the way it is so you can get it completely out of the way.

Replace the plastic pins with the the quarter turn pins that hold the side panel on. Very easy to do plus makes it very nice in field.

i replaced the torx bolts with allen key cap screws and a washer each(exact same ones used in the old REV y pipe)
way easier to get in and out

I too agree this is a super easy sled to work on
with the hood and panels off, you can get to pretty much everything

My only gripe is no way to fog the motor every season. I loved how easy access my airbox was on my XP.

I haven't looked at that yet, but will likely use long tubing installed over plastic spray tip. Should be able to fish it down into there

Just keeps getting better....

As far as the fogging issue goes, It's really pretty simple to remove the top half of the airbox, then the shelf for fogging.

Otherwise, it takes like 10 minutes and you can have almost everything but the engine itself exposed and everything else out of the way.

So far the most annoying thing I've ran into is the damn 1/4 turn panel fasteners, and thats putting the last layer back on. Great idea, but theyve just been annoying for me.

Did run into a bolt problem, and it ended up being one of the most problematic bolt situations I've had (And i've had MANY)! The rear bolt that holds the exhaust silencer bracket on..... Damn thing might as well of been welded in place. It tore up three 3/8 drive T-40 bits I had, before finally stripping out the bolt head! Weak/junk bolt somehow ruined the three tools baffled me primarily. Cut the bolt head off and could dang near turn the remaining bolt with two fingers!! Could not turn the bolt all the way through thanks the rivet head it hit on the bulkhead, and it would in no way allow itself to be reversed out. Ended up drilling it out and tapping it to a 10mm.

Otherwise, love working on this chassis!
