I have managed to tune this stuff out all day, but finally caved and the first thing I heard was something about them using the Lincoln Bible for the swearing in. If this is true (I googled it quickly but didn't do anything extensive) this proves to me that Obama really does believe he is the messiah.

Show some class and dignity, there have been a lot of really special presidents between Lincoln and now, and that bible has stayed in the archives where it belongs.

I've tried to keep an open mind about this guy. But, I avoided the day as well. I have a very difficult time listening to him and watching him. For some reason, I do not believe anything he says. I think he just says a lot of nothing-too much fluffy stuff...filler.

Actually your wrong about the private money. Office of budget estimates it will cost the Fed $49 Million, and the District of Columbia expects about $47 Million.

I never said the inauguration didn't cost the public any money, I was referring to his campaign. The majority of it was private money.

I agree that political spending in general for all sides is way out of hand and can be used to do better things, but unfortantely that is the nature of the beast, that I doubt will EVER change.
