Vertical Play in Steering Column

Took the sleds (2003 RMK 700 Edge) out for the first ride of the winter. The grooming season hasn't started yet so the whoops were big on the trail in. Noticed a lot of vertical play in the steering column when going up and down through the whoops. Thinking maybe it has always been there and never noticed it before. How much play is normal and is there any way to adjust it?

I just had this problem on my 04 ended up welding it right at the top under the bushings not sure why it was slipping there but that did the job talked to the dealer and they looked at me like I was crazy so welder it was

check the play in the bottom bushing behind the motor i iould be willing to bet it is worn out ! Just changed the wifes and no more play vertically.

What he said... those bushings go bad.

They are not fun to change.

Yea lower bushing replacement takes pulling the motor. It won't hurt anything and some play is normal so ride it and don't worry about it.
