Ya thats the ones

tunnel

I've had both tunnels. The VE is the stronger of the 2, and the cooling is second to none. CR .80 is still lots strong and alot easier to install. I like them both. Both are high quality.

My vote van emburg, Make sure you have them make provisions for what ever skid you are going to run. I had an easyryde and had some work to do when i switched to a cr m10. Let them do the work the 1st time. If you run a 15 wide then have the reinforcement done inside and make sure the rear drop brackets are low enough for the m10. JMO

Ive had three VE tunnels and Ive riden several sleds with Chads. P-Rocks is correct, if you go with the VE, make sure you tell Mike which suspension you go with the first. He is now making brackets for the M-10 which makes a world of difference in the mounting. As far as quality, they are both top notch and you wont go wrong. I go with VE because Mike is closer for me and Mike is a friend.

That being said, there is one big difference in the two and its a negative with VE. The way the rear boards are designed and the way the rear tunnel section is, I find myself getting really wet in the spring time from flying snow. This does not happen with the CR tunnel.

Good luck

E

I prefer the looks of the CR, but the powdercoat starts coming off before you hit the snow for your first ride.

VE is by far stronger. You can Hi Jack it from the foot rails. Very well biult.

Just depends on what your needs will be. The CR I bought for the look still looks good from a distance, but up close you see the powder coat coming off all over the place.

Had a VE and it buckled in the trailer tying it down and Mike wouldnt stand behind it had to fix it with huge custom snow eleminators Now I have a CR and wayyyyyy stronger but nextime C3 carbon fiber or Evans marine Carbon fiber

I seen the same thing with a Cr..... But my question is how did you bend the aluminum plates on the sides of the trailer just "tying it down"?
The Cr I seen was tied down and he tried to pull away like that.

there is another alternative, a BP tunnel made from .080 its a one peice tunnel really strong can be run with stock suspension or any aftermarket kit, comparatively priced to all others, see the alpine webpage, or give blaine a call at blains precision machining salmon arm 250-803-8871 cell 250-833-4607 ph.

you could mod your own tunnel....something like this...

Not really as the Cr is cheaper by a few hundred.

Add on the drop brackets and bumper etc... which they charge extra for and the price is similiar. Quality of the Terra Alps is second to none. Even if it was a few hundred bucks more its worth it. The body positioning and footing of the Terraalps tunnels and riding one in tight boondocking conditions is where they shine. Makes a big sled feel like a lighter sled, ride one and you'll see. Most other builders just copy the stock tunnels and add there little bits which don't make it any better. VE is different then stock but the Terra Alps is cleaner looking. imo. The rear footing boards don't hang down or as far out as the cr which drag when carving.

thats a terra alps tunnel. not just another stk replacement. the boards were lowered about 1 1/4" when climbing you really notice it. has a really sweet stance.
