I just got my van amburg 5/8 drop template, and im a bit confused how it works.
It doesn't come with install instructions, so im lost??

Anyone done this? Possibly have pictures? Any help is appreciated!

Its been a while.. but there should be a set of holes where that land on the existing rivets. If I remember right, you drill out those rivets, rivet template in place and mark your new location. Then start cutting.

You should have asked Rob and how not to break your hand doing it.... :face-icon-small-dis
I think my template is still out in the shop, I will see and take a look at it tomorow.

... I agree with Outlaw. My experience was also that these templates were "rivet align". Meaning drill out the existing rivets on both sides of the drive shaft, where applicable. Of course chaincase off, speedo housing off, drive shaft out, etc... I believe the 5/8 template was only to rotate the drive shaft down and back and leave the jack shaft alone. Align the template to the rivet holes via some alum rivets. Mark the center of the hole that you will be hole sawing (it's on the template) with a sharpie, punch it, remove the template. Attack with appropriate size hole saw.

The template may also have the needed rivet align for the other side of the drive shaft, else you need two templates.

VA should be able you with pics?

That's the jist of it... good luck

Yea, I have it all torn down to bare chassis. I was having a hard time figuring out which holes align where. Van amburg just returned my phone call, they explained it. one of the pre drilled holes is supposed to line up with the existing steering hoop holes. So that makes more sense. The template is double sided, one for clutch side and one for chaincase. They didn't have any pictures.

Thanks for your help guys, hopefully ill get it now!
