Valve Shim Kits

I am going to help a friend check his valve clearance.
What shim kits have you used and would you use them again. The bike is a 2014 KTM four stroke. My understanding is the all KTM 4strokes 2012+ use the same shims, correct?

Correct. And they are different than shims for the Japanese bikes (which have different sizes for 250's and 450's).

If you are going to be doing a lot of valves, the Hot Cams shim kits work great. If you are just doing one bike here and there, I would measure them and see what you need first. Then just go to the KTM dealer and buy the shims that you need. They are usually around $6 to $10 each.
