Vail Pass Sunday 2/10

I hear it supposed to get fresh foot but until it happens its all speculation. I was thinking about hitting VP on my way back towards Boulder. I'll be riding the Mesa Friday, Kebler Saturday and hopefully Vail pass Sunday.

I can't imagine off trail at VP is very ridable is it? Kebler is awesome if there is enough snow.

Buddy of mine was down at Kebler on sunday & said it was much more filled in than expected. He went to the upper part of robinson & said that it looked good, but he's not a jumper, didn't say how the landings looked back there.

Anybody know how VP is looking right now? I might be up for cruising up there if it's in ok shape. I drove by yesterday for a meeting, and it looks good on the stuff you can see from the highway... but that's not saying much.

VP is still slim pickings, there isnt much snow off the trail, and if you do expect to hit stumps, rocks, hidden gems.

If you can go someplace else...

damn

I don't know what to say. disappointing...

anything good from kebler towards denver? thought about checking out the flat tops near glen wood but maybe coming back Saturday night is a good idea after all. Just saw the snow forecast and placing are supposed to get 10-16" sat night so I figured vail pass would be a solid spot. But not excited to hit ****

Road VP Monday and it was actually decent. Took the trail east of the parking lot and found plenty of pow. Could have spent hours playing just off the trail. Also Vail posted another 5" last night.

Did VP last Saturday. It was excellent on the Shrine Pass side. We know of a few really good tree runs that we could not climb out of. Great snow in the right places. We ventured to Shrine Bowl but most of it has slide. Not much for cornice drops now. The Ptarmigan side was terrible. Too much exposure to the sun. The biggest downfall to VP was the crowd, way too many people. However, once we got to where we were, we never saw another sled.

The Mesa snow was terrible, rocks everywhere so hopefully Keebler is better tomorrow. But, instead of hitting vail pass Sunday I think I'm going to forgo it and drive back to boulder tomorrow night.

Sadly the rabbit ears last weekend was amazing maybe they will get some fresh pow soon
