Utah Snow Show

I thought it was a Klim show. It seemed like every other vendor was selling Klim and no one had any good deals. You can find it online for a lot cheaper and you don't have to pay tax.

I went with a pocket full of cash ready to spend. I wanted to buy some PP skis and couldn't find anyone selling them. Anything I found that I wanted to buy was at retail price or higher. I go to the show to find some good deals but couldn't find any.

The SnowBigDeal guys had deals on avy equipment and they were doing things like paying the sales tax and such.

But if you wanted to buy sled hardware of any sorts you were out of luck.

Well, I didn't make the show this year, but sounds like it was money saved. Except I didn't get to see all you fellow sledheads! Its more social than buying for me most the time. Guess we'll just have to make the forum ride happen this year.

There were good deals on Klim, you just had to ask. Klim mandates that retailers have to advertise or post the retail price at the shows. It keeps things fair amongst the retailers. However, there were deals to be had....you just had to be a little proactive about it. ;)

I tried, I was looking for some Klim Mid-Layer shirt and pants asked for cash price and they wouldn't budge on the price so I gave up I didn't want to run around to every vendor.

They were so desperate to sell sonething I pretended I wasn't going to buy a women's Klim coat for my gf after we talked to them for 30 minutes that when I came back after looking around they gave me 20% off. I came back to this particular vendor told them we were going to hold off on the coat and just wanted a hat and the lady who was ringing me up said I'll give you 20% off if you get the coat. so I got the coat :)

I tried to get a good deal on a the Orange Tomahawk jacket, it was priced at $349 he said he could take $20 off....I was thinking at least $50 so I didn't buy it. priced a new HMK helmet retail $299 he said $290 again I was thinking at least $50 off so I saved my money and will go through my dealer as well so I guess if that's what there trying to accomplish it will work in my case.

Future advice for vendors I had pulled money out of my checking expecting to spend all of it, instead I walked out with nothing. Oh well I had fun seeing all the new products anyway.

It's never the best year, i go to hang out and see some friends i don't see all summer.. That is worth it to me.. Sled stuff beer and good friends is what I'm about.. Never good deals on stuff i want, but i can try them on so when i order on line.. See you all soon..

best time to get a deal would be about 20-30 minutes before the show ends. make a cash offer last minute. companies seem easier to let stuff go than pack it back up. after a three year sabbatical I will be returning to the SLC show. not going to be working in boondocker booth too much, but I will be in the Utah Youth Snowmobile Council booth. Come swing by and say hi! I hope to have candy bowl out front :face-icon-small-coo

I'll be going as usual. Might actually blow some cobwebs off the wallet and spend some money this year too! Gotta get some accessories for the new (old) sled! :face-icon-small-win
