You really have to go and look for yourself. You will get people here saying to go and buy Dodge, Ford, Chevy or w/e. BTW whoever said the Ford's are in the shop a lot most definitely haven't seen the number of 6.7 cummins at the dealerships.

If you do end up buying a Ford 6.4 go buy the Spartan stuff. It will just about break your neck the first time you drive it. Low 13's isn't bad with a tuner/exhaust.

How or why did I get dragged into this??????????? I never said anything about being able to pull Parley's at 80.... I do know for a fact I can pull D's 27' w/ the Ranger, 3 4 wheelers and a bunch of other crap, over Parley's @ 60mph at the summit and I didn't once look at the gauges to see if I was over heating...

But hey, I'm easy.... you are absolutely right... my truck doesn't pull for chat...therefore I will need to ride in either the 90K Ford or the old Dodge so that we can ensure we arrive at our destination safe, sound and in a timely manner....

I'm seriously contemplating picking up a Chevy Duramax Diesel from Larry H Miller Chevrolet for towing purposes.

Should I consider a Ford or Dodge? Any experiences here?

I don't know why, but I've always been kind of a Chevy guy when it comes to trucks...and 660 lb-ft is sick!

My brother has a 04 ford PSD and I have an 06 CHEVROLET diesel. His is programmed chipped exhausted. Mine has exhaust. He pulls a 1980's 24 foot camp trailer. I pull a 2008 30' 5th wheel and leave him in the dust going over parley's. and still get the same M.P.G. Get what you like interior wise- and just figure on a DURAMAX passing U I work for a dealer and I can tell you that every single truck has there issues

I tow with an 08 Ford with the new 6.4 liter. Awsome truck exept for all the new emmisions bull crap! I took care of that and saw probably 20% to 30% better mileage. I'm a Ford man all the way, but I belive everyone is right drive what you like and feels good to you. I would highly recomended buying somthing without all the D.P.F. garbage! Stupid E.P.A!

as of 6 months ago my tow rig is a 01 chev 2500hd with the 8.1/allison. it will tow anything any the others will and still gets fairely decent mileage for a 496 inch big block. the only thing that would make me like it more is if it had the 6-speed manual, theres nothin wrong with the allison and its the only auto i will ever own, i've just always liked the manuals better.

Couldn't decide...

So I bought a 2001 nissan sentra SE with the 2.0. She's an automatic with a bra, and shatty paint....but she'll blow the doors off of Kevco's D-Max!!!
I can haul a 45' fifth wheel in 2nd over parleys at like 200 MPH and still smoke the tires shifting in to 3rd! Need to get some over-loads though...she sags a little when the trailer is loaded!

It's a truck...test drive....enjoy and then buy what the budget allows!
Isn't the whole idea just to get to the hill so you can ride??!!! I did that for a lot of years in a $3000 Nissan king cab! She wouldn't pull parleys at 80 but she did the job just like all the other trucks in the parking lot for a whole lot less....and better yet....she was paid for!

i have on 08 dmax and i love it. i get 17.3 in town and it tows good to. I use to work for Bully dog so i have been around all of them i had a 2001 dodge at 750hp, but for a nice all around driver freindly truck the chevy is nice.
