used yamaha market wtf

I now of 3 turbo Apex's that sold this year already for between $8000.00 and $9000.00. That seems to be the selling price right now. There are just too many great deals out there right now. The big problem will be if you wait too long you will miss out. Once Dec hits most guys have already bought for the season and then values drop even more. You should see some of the deals on boats right now. Its crazy how cheap you can buy them. Once the buying season is done it gets tough to sell anything. There are only so many buyers out there. I sold a mod 2 stroke 2 years ago that I had $25,000.00 in to for $4000.00 and I was lucky to get that.

You think they are getting pounded now wait till Yamaha brings out the Apex replacement if such a thing exists. The same thing is going to happen to the Nytro. All these sleds are like 7 or 8 grand sleds that a guy might as well just drive the bag off till they blow up then part them.

yeah.. whenever yamaha replaces the apex, you think the t-apex market is crap right now.. heck, pretty sure well be able to pic up boosted apexes for $5-6000

take what you got and ride it till it freakin turns to a pile of dust, jump it, cartwheel it, have fun.

TuboKeith - Craigslist seems to work. I put my 09 Nytro on there, got a call 3 days later, and 2 guys from Michigan drove to Colorado to pick it up. Maybe I left a little on the table in that deal, but considering how few buyers there are this year.. " a bird in the hand is better than two in the bush"...

Good luck!

I thought i would get some bites 30 g into a sled and i cant sell it for 1/2 that with 500 miles on it well i amd going to keep on riding I guess the wife gets the new sled (she dont ride:D

There is now an Apex turbo listed on here with an asking price of $8500.00. I have no idea what he will take for it but just another example of where prices are going with the used Apex market.

Not sure what everyone is going to gain by selling their apex's lets see.....30 000 into them sell for 8000 buy a nytro put 30 000 into that not sure if its going to be 52 000 buck better is it?

Good one you just let the air out of all the guys that just did that:D:D:D

For me it is Apex all the way --- just like it better :face-icon-small-hap

x2 on that i love my apex, it will be rode till the chassis is dust then prolly a diamond s apex to nytro conversion unless yamaha has something amazing to replace the apex. love the sled and love the 4 banger even more.

The whole market has taken a hit and from a potential Yamaha turbo Nytro buyers perspective it is hard to justify buying a used turbo sled right now. There are several for sale on Snowest that I have looked at. Some are pretty descent deals, some not. The used market is tough because there are some dealers who are discounting new leftover sleds so much that I can buy a leftover 09 and put a turbo kit on it along with a few goodies for the same price as buying used 08. Not sure how much this compares to the Apex market but it makes things tough for anyone that paid retail for their sled, the turbo and all the parts on it.

I havnt looked but I imagine here in Canada its going to cost 14000 for a new apex and still going to cost 10 000 to put a turbo kit on with labour..That isnt going to include drivers or suspension up grades, it adds up really quick.

The thing I can't understand is why would anybody buy a new one. You can buy a used one at less than 1/2 the price and let's face it a stock Apex basically will never wear out. You could put all new bearings , bushings etc in for like $3-400 and have a basically new sled cause the motor isn't ever going to quit. Turboed ones are an even better deal cause turbo kits are fetching about 33 cents on the dollar these days. Because the sleds don't really wear out there gets to be a saturation point where everybody who wants one already has one and there's nothing wrong with it so why replace it? I think we are at that point. Only a new model will get guys who already have a 4 stroke buying new ones otherwise its ride it till you are bored with it.

Lots of guys buying new xp's or cats or whatever though that put like 14-20 thousand into their sleds wishing they would go like a turbo yammie, but wont put that money on a used yammie sled even though it probably is perfectly good.Their loss I guess.

I'm waiting till next yr to buy a tapex ( new baby here so I cant get away much this yr.. ) but just wait till the guys who took a beating on a tapex, then a nytro, go and build a cat or Tdoo or whatever. the apex's will be forgotten..... value wise anyways.

There are just so many of them for sale. I bet there are at least 25 turbo Apex's for sale here on sw. People can be very selective when the pickin's are good. Everyone knew the recipe from 06 to 08 and if you wanted the best power and the best reliability it was a tapex. And that's what a lot of people did and why there are so many for sale. Now we have the Nytro in the mix and turbo 2 strokes have came leaps and bounds in the last 2 years and are way more reliable. I love the Apex, and feel like a retard on a Nytro even though I've tried and tried to learn to get use to it.
