Use Alkaline Batteries in your Avalanche Beacon

Just a reminder. Avalanche beacons are designed to use standard alkaline batteries. Don't waste your money on expensive lithium batteries for your avalanche beacon.

and to go with this.... the dts trackers will transmit but, wont operate in the search function with lithiums. always use alkalines in beacons. been there done that. ski

And lastly, if you use an ipod to listen to tunes while you are in the backcountry, be aware that your beacon will still transmit, but the search function is interfered with while the ipod is on.
