Cmantel,
I do agree that what this kid did (posting the video and being stupid) was wrong, but I spent four years as a Marine training our troops to operate in desert enviroments. Not only does the seperation from your family get to you when your at war, but you have the stress of war, the extreme heat (not to mention some bitter cold at night), confusion of the unknown enviroment, and (IMO) the worst of all is the dam sand! That **** gets in everything!!! Ok more serious, the heat really does just cook the mind and with everything else these guys are going through I know its hard so sometimes you do some stupid ****. (Like offroading a 92 camaro at 2am, but thats another story ). What these folks need is our support. They don't want to be there, even if they agree we need to be (which I strongly do) they'd still rather be home with family carving up this sweet snow. And yes like someone else said on here, its really easy to be against the war when all our news reports is all the bad going on over there. Do some searching and you'll find a lot of blogs of soldiers who will tell of all the good they see too. And just think, if we leave now and the terrorist do manage to take control, you think they'll sell us that oil for cheap to make our gasoline
I agree %100 that these guys minds get hosed because of the war and all...I have an infinate amount of respect for these gusy for what they go through. I really do ...
But I still think this was pretty pathetic. I won't defend the guy ...
PTS Syndrome or not, it was still blatantly cruel and wrong.
