upgrade the 1100t or buy viper?

Right now I have a 2012 1100t. Was thinking about doing TCL delete, big chute turbo and 3" track. Should I dump money into this thing or get rid of it and go with the new viper?

I don't own an 1100T but a friend does, i own an Viper 153" with vertical steering, 38" Z-broz a-arms, so pretty much same as next year's MTX.
My advice is: Try one!
I've driven the 1100T now and then for a couple of years, and never liked it much, so i never thought i would buy an Viper, but when the dealer said i could borrow one for a weekend i was hooked, feel much diffrent vs 1100T.
The guy who own the 1100T says the same.
And with an MCX turbo it has all the power it will ever need.

Wouldn't the viper's weight ride lower in the chassis? Never liked the top heaviness of my Turbo. If yammie/evo got this nitro motor boosted I would take it, if it was easier to maneuver and roll it on its side. Rode a push turboed viper (trail machine) and was turned off immediately to the lack of pull compared to my old M1100T 215 EVO flash. Think it was poorly tuned though, prolly why it was a demo/for sale.

Turbo to turbo weight difference

So has anyone figured out the weight of the Viper turbo vs. m1100t? How much weight does that great sound of the Viper take off?? ha-ha

The 2015 Viper MTX 153 Yamaha weighed with a 180hp MPI turbo kit came in at 641 lbs ready to ride. 2012 M1100T 162 is 677 ready to ride they have lost a few lbs since 2015. Would be less then 30lbs difference for a 2015 M1100T and a 2015 Viper 162 with 180hp MPI turbo.

Exhaust

I imagine there is already a lightweight exhaust on the MPI turbo so a lighter exhaust on the 1100 would narrow the gap even further. Thanks for the info.

Yes a lighter exhaust on the M1100T would narrow it up, the big difference between the two sleds is the placement of the Nytro motor, many are saying it makes it handle better, is it enough to sell M1100T for a Viper? I personally don't know as I have not rode a viper but my dealer built a 2014 Viper with a 180hp MCX turbo and said minimal difference but noticeable between the two sleds. From others it sounds like the Viper handles somewhere in between an M8 and M1100T. That being said the Viper has some nice upgrades over the M1100T, Yamaha drive trains and clutching have always been bullet proof and the 3-cylinder Yamaha is a great motor. Yamaha guys are sure excited about a chassie that we have been using since 2012.
