Ufc 81

fight

so hard to tell, the ufc would not have made this match up if it would'nt be a great fight. mir could kick his ***, but lesnar is so big and athletic hard to tell. we'll just have to hold our breath and see what happens. i'm sure it will be a war!!!!!!!!!

I wish I could see it.

I bet Lesnar won't be that polished and ring savvy. He's only 1-0 in MMA.

Mir is always disappointing. Is he always it the kind of condition that will get him into the 2nd or 3rd round?

I'd like to see the weigh in pics to see what kind of shape Mir and Lesnar are in. It's a tough fight to call because Mir is so new and Mir hasn't looked impressive since his accident. It's a tough decision to buy the PPV too - the undercard doesn't look impressive. Now Belcher is out due to injury but the UFC did a good job and I have a strong desire to see how that fight plays out.

Ignoring the WWE part of it, Lesner was an incredible amateur wrestler. He has only had one mixed martial arts fight, which he won in a very dominating fashion. The video for that fight is on youtube Lesner is very strong and fast for a guy that big. I don’t think it will be a good night for Mir…

like i've said before, mir is no tiny mite either. i think they said he's going into the fight around 250-260 lbs. and he moves extremely well also. not to mention, probably the best submissions of any big man. if he's got his heart back, he will be very hard to beat

Don’t get me wrong… I know Mir is no slouch. I just think he is going to have a tough time staying in this fight based on his recent performances. I may be giving too much credit to Lesner, but we will see in a couple days. I have been looking forward to this fight for a long time…

Just watched the lead in/prefight special on Spike last night and they are both in Awesome shape. Lesnar is a friggin tank and Mir is no slouch. I think if Mir doesn't get it done in a hurry though Lesnar will wear him down just off the fact of his size is tough to move around. People think Sylvia is huge but when it comes to all out size an muscle he doesn't hold a candle to lesnar.

I think the comparison is like Sherk in the lightweight div vs anyone else. He's gotta cut over 20 lbs to get to 155 and then once he rehydrates after weighins he's back. Just a friggen monster compared to the rest of the division. Can't wait to see him against Penn. I actually used to work with Sherk back in MN before he got bigtime. Great guy and I think he got hosed on the roids case. If you look at the numbers he was barely over what's considered the limits and it's been proven that people of his body type can test high for that specific hormone that he got popped for. Also notible was that it was the post fight test after the Franka fight and Franka came up way hot.

Yes, seven years ago. Right, he's 1-0 against a late minute 4 win - 6 loss replacement because his original opponent couldn't get sanctioned in Neveda. I think Lesnar has a solid foundation but he needs alot more ring time and training before he'll have the tools to beat Mir. If he sticks with it for a few years he may be on top of the UFC - it's made for wrestlers. For now I'm picking Mir by first round submission.

Hermes Franca admitted he juiced and got a one year suspension. Sherk denied it and it was reduced to 6 months. He says it was his supplements that caused the positive test. Either way he's accountable for what he put's into his body - be it tainted supplements or a needle.

That will be a great fight with BJ. I'm taking BJ though. He's just so talented.

Brock

I honestly think that Brock will own this fight. He is just so big and so strong. Also he knows how to win he is a juco champ and a DI champ. There are not alot of guys with that kind of wrestling backgroud in MMA yet. I honestly do not know who can stop him in UFC right now. He strikes hard and is going to dominate you on the ground. We will see but that is my prediction.

He hasn't even had a fight in the UFC and he's the number one heavyweight fighter? There are a lot of great wrestlers in MMA. Matt Lindland (2000 Olympic Silver medal), Dan Henderson (2 time Olympic team member), most of team quest. Mark Kerr (D1 Champion), Mark Coleman (7th place 1992 Olympics) don't forget Don Frye, Dan Severn, Josh Koshchek, John Fitch, Georges St. Pierre and Rulon Gardner. He has a lot of potential. I seriously doubt his boxing is as good as Mir's though - and he's no striker. Saturday will give us the answer though - that's why they fight.

Yeah it's gonna be a tough one for both of them If you look at their record and who they have lost to it's almost a parallel list. and all were champions that beat them.

BJ is just flat out on his game right now though. I'd have to give it to him if it ends early but if it turns into a grinder I lean towards sherk. He has a very similar style to Hughes and going off or record alone Sherk went 5 rounds and lost the decision to Hughes where BJ got tapped up against him. Of course that was when Hughes was at the top of his game and I don't think BJ or Sean were there yet but both are now.

I can't wait to see the Lesnar/Mir fight too though. Experience vs Raw power.

everyone seems to think that Mir is some little guy out there. he is going into this fight at around 240 lbs, not 155. he is one of the best submission guys in the business, let alone for a big guy. only thing against him was his accident. not quite the same guy since, seemed like he'd lost his desire. his last fight was pretty good though, and it seems like he may have got the fire back. if so, i don't see lesnar doing very well against him tomorrow. if lesnar stays with it and trains and gets more experience, he may become a great fighter. but right now, he is just raw potential, nothing more. like someone else said though, that's why they fight, cause in the heavyweight class, everyone has a punchers chance!!!!
