U.S. economy going to he!!

If no one believes your an idiot, we are headed to a depression. But thats not what I want to talk about.
Anyone have any ideas on how to protect oneself and ones family from the up coming depression. I have been getting kind of worried about debt catching up to me as I got married fairly recently and just bought a house about a year ago and all that business that goes with living the american dream. So what do I do to make sure I dont get in trouble and loose the house and what not. Also what are some good ideas to build up a savings account and some good investments to get into.

DON'T USE A CREDIT CARD!!!!!!!!!! That in itself will put a person in debt faster than you think. I've learned my lesson the hard way, believe me, it sound good at first, but holy he!! it catches up with ya. Also cut back on the "luxury" items for a little while, they will come with time. Just learn to pace yourself. Just my .01 cent (I'm too cheap for .02, it's a fuel thing:mad:)

Dump all the debt you possibly can.
If you have to get a second job, do it.
Bullfrog is right, credit cards are your enemy.
Cut back on all the neat stuff you really don't need.

You should have at least 6 months of income in the bank. That is 6 months worth with zero cut backs. Idealy you should be able to survive for 1 year with zero income. I know that sounds hard to do, but it will allow you to survive most any emergency.

Why be responsible? I'm going to vote Democrat. After all, they're going to SAVE THE WORLD!

Get a second job and put 100% of that towards savings, cut down the number of toys.

All of the above great advice guys...:D:D

yeah I am pretty screwed here ...

I figure I'm at least $60,000 in debt right now ... I just HAD to have that pickup truck and that 4-wheeler :rolleyes::rolleyes:

Depression???

You make light of and insult what are parents and grandparents survived.

A slowing economy hardly equals a depression. All the same, good advice listed above for everyday life.

Carry on...

I heard a few weeks ago that the economy actually grew the last quarter(or since last year, something like that).

Sorry to sound like a *** but if you have to ask that question I would not be so sure you know what the economy is going to do.

What I'm doing... make sure your debt is as low as you can, and have money saved. Make sure you have extra ammo and gun. Other than that try to live.. The economy needed adjustment though. Never trust anything the media says, ever. If you do sorry you live your life as a puppet..

I have been self employeed my entire working life (Since age 14) and over the years we have had many offers to sell our business . We never took any to serouisly until now we have and unsolicited offer and we are doing all we can to make it happen! Why ? the economy and the labor situation leave me working 7 days a week to service our debt! I see an opportunity to be completly debt free both personally and profesionally and I gonna take the money and run! whatever the outcome of the election I dont see things improving and god help all small business people if Obama and Pelosi get there chance ! I am not willing to risk my families future any longer . I dont want to work for somone else, but no debt and a great salary (nearly double ) is a no brainer given the path I see this country taking inthe future!

it's not your fault.... those evil bank lenders sought you out and preyed upon you and forced you to buy those things ....

don't feel bad about it, just understand you are a good person and you shouldn't have to pay for those things.

the sky is falling, the sky is falling.

lmao

Not the sky just this nation ! Its called history and it tends to repeat itself ! take a look at the great civilizations of the past Egypt ,Rome ,etc our way of life is going to change.Personally I would like to be prepared for myself and my family.

yeah these big Oil companies just keep getting richer and doubling earnings every year, everything stems from that although I am sure there is more to it. Recreation will be the 1st to go for a lot of people!

anyone ever hear of "Water to fuel" hmmmmmm.

Thata a pretty cool site. I wish all the alternate fuel stuff would really take off and become common place. There is so much technology out there we could be all but oil free but the oil companies will fight it to the death, yet its the oil companies that should be developing this stuff because they have the money and resources to do it and it would help protect their future as a business.

I though the same thing.

Doom and gloom will happen if you let it, If people get off there azzes and watch out for them selfs things will be fine.....And as a Bonus the Dem's will be out of bussiness:cool:
