Twist Throttle

I'd say they're a lot LESS likely to freeze up than on a sled (or quad) because they use push/pull cables....and IMO, you don't see them on sleds because of liability reasons (you know, some guy drives a twist throttle equipped sled into a tree and he says it wasn't his fault..... it was the throttle/sled manufacturers fault)

Only the four strokes have push/pull throttles, you could make one work on a 2 stroke sled but it would take some doing.

This is what I ended up doing...for now

We added the snobunje throttle flare and twisted the throttle around so I can run it with two fingers. It is killing my wrist but, who cares...I can ride, at least with some caution not to jam my thumb too much. I'm also wearing the RU outside thumb thing and had to buy some wierd neoprene, stretchy gloves to fit over it but it worked for 3 days riding so far. Pics aren't that great as I took them inside the trailer but, should give the general idea.

I had one on my fanner mod a few years ago. I did have freezing problems, not often but once is enough.

It was great for trail riding and jumping but not mountain riding. Sled went by by and so did the twist. But if I had a broken thumb I might just put one on for a bit.

Ive been ridin dirtbikes for ever and thought the ttwist throttle would be worth a try, If you stayed on the trail i think it would work, but when your out in the powder with it coming over your hood. i think it would freeze if left in the cold overnight
