turbo yami bad boys

I'd do it, but I uhh, umm, I'm busy that weekend! :rolleyes:Yeah, that's it! I'm busy!! :confused:Darn.;) Really wanted that $100 too!:beer;

I think i know the guys your directing this at but a hundred bucks ?? Two day drive, change track for ice and put in screws, get hotel,and ride on a sheet of ice in the amatures rock on:rolleyes: your hundred bucks dont sound like so much. Watch the big dog video and tell me that isnt skill and complete suicide. Im not so sure what your after here.

Kirk Williamson supposedly will have a turbo apex in a Dragon at the race this weekend. He didn't have it going for the first race in Preston two weeks ago. The hill climb circuit has never treated turbos very well, going gate to gate, on/off throttle is not a turbos game. There are a lot more trying turbos this year though, mostly two strokes.

Good luck trying to get someone to take your $100. That wouldn't even pay for fuel for most people to get there.

you would burn over $100 of fuel just trying to qualify :rolleyes:

It can be done, someday a turbo will win the hill, my guess is that its going to be on a polaris...........600 prolly

Yeah, there was a guy that used to race a turbo Vmax 4 in BC years ago. It sounded like a dentist drill on steriods - way cool - and could throw roost halfway down the hill...but going gate to gate was hard since it would spool and then spin and launch like crazy and just as he'd get moving, he'd be at the next gate and have to chop the throttle and start all over again. I never saw it in the dash for cash or on a straight up run, but I bet once he got the track hooked and was on boost, that thing would have been a rocket! I think he was from Williams Lake or Quesnel or somewhere up there.

Where did this idea come from that turbos can't run well unless they are pinned all the time?:confused: People that believe this have never ridden a Tapex or Tnytro. These sleds are less point and shoot than turbo 2 strokes! This is Just My Opinion!:beer;

That's true, a properly setup turbo yammi has explosive off throttle power. Turbo lag is not an issue, but I guess people won't really understand until they drive one themselves.

Haha i got old videos of that vmax 4 at hill climbs it had such an odd sound to it haha. but turbos have came a long way from that back yard turbo.... i remember turbo daves stock body v max 4 went over the top with a turbo on it not many people could believe it when all the big bore light weight polaris's weren't making it... and for the comment the big dawg beeing nuts i totally agree but they diffanitly aint going gate to gate over rocks stumps and ice.

Jackson TPEX rider

There was a Canadian racer w/ Tapex last year.

Tyler Backus rode his Alpine powered Apex at Jackson last year.....from what I remember was on of the top ones came in 2nd or 3rd...not sure
He bolted on Titanium paddles and cut down his 2.5" camo extreme to 1.5" then studded it...he said the hill is pretty much all ice.

Check out the link, Tyler's footage is about the 2 min mark

Just watched the video. Tapex did well. Big waste of time IMO. Can think of better things to do with my time and money.

if i had the money for a weekend tpex and another tpex for just races,id do it too. Doesnt like shane heart ride a 600 aerocharged polarass?? I have a video from like 2002 of a aerocharged polarass in the open class,like a red and yellow tube chassis? SO its been and being done,just not alot. It is a TON of money to chance rollin down a hill,but...i guess if you can ride,you wont have that to worry about:)
