Turbo versus SuperCharger?

So I am sure this has been asked before but I'm new to this. Looking at buying a sled and want to know opinions on both. Live in Vancouver riding in Whistler area. What do you guys suggest. Looking at getting into the turbo or supercharger game. Right now riding a 06 900 Polaris. Want to switch to the 4 stroke power. Help a guy out so he makes the right decision.

with the turbo, isn't there a little bit of lag? and with supercharger, isn't the power there all the time, cause of it being ran by a belt off the crank, instead of by the exhaust like a turbo?

I just switched from a 900 cat to a SC apex and it's been great so far for the boondocking style riding I do. I ride with another guy that has a SC Nytro and a guy with a T Apex and they both seem happy too. With my limited experience it seems that the SC has more smooth, linear power from idle up to redline and the turbo has more of a hit when it spools up and pulls harder up top. There is just a learning curve on either one. The one big thing I noticed was how much ground speed you get....everything happens pretty fast.

I have had both and turbo is the best for me. Fuel consumption on super charged sleds are a down side. As for lag a well dialed turbo will feel as quick or quicker than any S/C sled. My opinion. Also note that the pure logic controllers or whatever they are called are a primitive device , a band aid at best. RB3 is hands down setting the pace for trail sleds.

Well to get the supercharger better on mileage it works really well to install a pop off valve on the bottom side of the intercooler, and it makes it a lot more rideable and it saves on belts. And I agree that a well tuned turbo is way better then a well tuned sc, and it aint as easy to tune the super charged sled as it is the turbo. just my two cents, but like I said its what your into.

One of the biggest problems with a S/C is that there is not enough info and R&D getting them dialed in. I spent all winter getting mine to work and get a little closer everytime I ride it. The next step is the dyno at powderlites.

If you are from Vancouver I would look at Dave's system at powderlites. Your service will be close and good.

If you want a good boondocker and great throttle response go with a S/C. If you want top end go with a turbo. JMO
