turbo/supercharger questions

ok, I got a buddy that is looking at picking up an apex.
he wants to either turbo it or put a supercharger on it.
However, neither one of us knows squat about 4 stroke sleds, turboes or superchargers.
he is looking to get around 150-160 hp at around 8-10kft.
Pump gas, reliable (gas and go), no tweeking, just riding.

So, if people that actually know can answer a few question that would be great.

Which one is actually better?
Which one is more realiable?
Which one will give good smooth power delivery without the heavy power hit?

ANY help from experience riders would be VERY much appriciated.
Thanks.

mpi stage 1 super charger. 240 hp at 10lbs with 50/50 110 race and pump 92. trouble free for me. I have 1600mi with this kit and it just works.

Depends want you want to do with the sled for highmarking then turbo all the way for boondocking tree riding then supercharger

I would say a turbo is alittle bit more realiable just because you don't have pullys or a belt, Turbos and superchargers are both very realible power adders

Smooth power then a turbo, a supercharger can be alittle hard hitting

Both are great i like the turbo better:D

since u say u guys know didly squat and just want some power for elevation, i'd say the mcxpress rear mount turbo is pretty much the only way to go its fairly close to plug and go. but there really isn;t a turbo kit that makes that little of horsepower which is hardly more than stock. mcxpress has good response and you get 290hp with pump gas. that would be your best bet i think.

I think they mean 250 not 150. mcexpress is 290hp with pump gas you must be talking apex not nytro

It will be used mostly for boondocking and tree running.

Don't really know what kind of HP you can expect from a pump gas system at elevation. I know they say it makes 290hp, but at what elevation is it making 290hp?

Main things would be Reliability and smooth power delivery. Don't really want that arm stretching kick.

We just need to learn all we can from the guys that have em so we can make a good decision on what system to put in.
