im sure that im not the only one looking to put a turbo kit on a 4 stroke ski-doo ,im just looking for info on what is out there.i know mcx has a kit out ,is anyone running one? if so how is it working..any info would be appreciated....thanks
first off i am not trying to start anything at all i am just gathering some info on doing one of these builds, and you only half answered my question what about the motors you kinda left that out.
These motors were burning up pistons. If you could everyone to actually spill the truth, then you would know. This motor does have potential with aftermarket forged pistons, but i would not try running the cast pistons...that's just looking for trouble.hey boost leak why dont you read dootalk 1200 4 stroke section
the motors that burned down were ffp single stage flat land set ups and it was the turbo's fault and ffp fix the problem.....
If the turbo set up is flawed it will blow any engine you got know that much
sorry but your realy tring to figure why the motor burned down and your handle is Boostleak why are you obsessing if all you what to do is gather info and do a build?.... Im doing this build and I have been talking to guys since last summer and I talked to the guys that had engine troubles they are all on dootalk its no mystery even boondocker burned down an engine tring to perfect their set up...... but when they come out with their kit no one going to care if they had trouble cuz its called r&d and better they find out before they sell there kits. Now ffp sold as they fixed can you blame them????? I dont know cuz made kits avalible... it keep alot of guys busy and even the guys the had problems and burn downs still love their kit and the help to get them rocking.

powderlites sled are both run stock pistons
the one your all excited about has stock piston run up to 15 pounds boost
has 1000 mile and has not blown up
so big shot....why is that if the pistons suck????
why does powderlites sled work anybody????
how about turbo performance stock pistons and it works so does racers edge....?
will I use stock?? no.... but have they worked you cant say they havnt depending on whos kit thats all!!!!!

Powderlites sled is working but if you think for one second he will recommend you run the stock cast pistons give your head a shake.You do not build a turbo motor with cast pistons. Why do you think the turbo builders have a replacement coming?? The stock clutch has a replacement out already, chain cases on the xp were blowing up, not saying that is a problem but answers boost leak and others were looking for.""Reliability"there GUINESS. These sleds have blown up dont fool your self there , its called R&D, new sled new turbo.Am i knocking this sled ? No ..My buddy is going to build one,sh!t he started this thread!!I do think it will work out good once the bugs are worked out.and yes i was impressed with the one the Miku bros had in revy. so how much do you think this build will cost in the end? Sled ,turbo ,tunnel ,skid, clutch, clutching, gearing,gauges,pistons and Install if your not capable??? it will be $25000 or close to, so when a guy is asking questions about a build he has the right to get facts,And yes even ask if the motor has blown up. Well guys we beat it on dyno today for a few hours.
Pistons are stock and has head spacer.
Rapid bike 3 with first time on Dyno with Ignition timing advanced in bottom end and retarded with boost.
Pistons are also very strong as in there Seadoo uses cast pistons and supercharged at 255 HP all day long!
Rods are a crack rod and bolts etc from what I see are very strong.
Remember it only needs to run at 7800 RPM to make over 300 HP with 210 ft lbs of torque.
Turbo love low RPM and Torque style motors like a diesel.
Here is a run on Dyno we made today so we know exactly how this motor runs. More tuning and playing with timing etc will just make more HP and torque.
