Turbo Question....

Was looking at some turbo kits for my M1000. Here is what Iam wondering....If I put one on, will my sled only be able to be rode in the mountains? I live in southern minnesota and we get really good, deep drifting and last year had great snow! I cant afford to have 2 sleds and 1 strictly for mountain riding. Thank you.

The OVS kits can be ridin any place any riding style and they will perform switching from one style to the other just like a stock sled, but with alot of HP. You will have more fun riding a turbo in any riding condition than you can imagine.

??just curious why you wouldnt be able to ride it in the mountains, as almost all of the turbo sleds I see are in the hills, built by companies from the hills. again, just curious, if anything, you wouldnt need the t-m1000 for the flats, just for the mountains.

Also, I dont know what kinda elevation your gonna be riding at, but 9lbs on 91 octane is pushing it pretty far for an M1000 without a knock sensor.

I will be riding it in the mountains but I ride it here in minnesota also....If I spend $5 grand on a turbo set up I want to be able to ride it anywhere with out having to major re-tune all the time. And I was just wondering what the pump gas kits boost, Im new to all this turbo stuff so Im trying to get some more info....Maybe I will just wait until Ripcharger Gets some numbers out there....Seems like the way to go now. 8lbs all the time on pump gas and No Lag.

8lbs on pumpgas is on an 8 ripcharger is working with the 8 not the 1000 the 1000 is a whole diffrent animal than the 8 the 8 at 14lbs makes 260 hp the 1000 at 5lbs makes 260.

When I ran my pump gas kit here in wi for break in, i ran the least boost as possible, around 5 pound's and still ran straight race do be safe of deto. 9 pounds on pump at sealevel or a 1000 feet i wouldnt no way.

My sled was an 09 rmk 800 with bd kit. "And i have a det light"

If you are thinking about going with the OVS kit then maybe think about their propane setup. Huge octane advantage with propane especialy if you are riding down low and apparently from what I have been reading they are stupid simple to tune and adjust for elevation changes. Sounds like two different knobs for propane regulating, one for idle and one for wide open throttle and thats it. Its a bit more money but it could end up with the low elevation that if you skimp now it could cost you later, especialy running pump fuel at 9 PSI down low on an M1000. I will be running 100LL at 8 PSI on my M8 in the mountains of BC, +/-6000 feet.
