Turbo or Big Bore?

I rode a turbo pro last year for an hour up at Cooke in some awesome steep and deep next to my stocker 2012. True the turbo out highmarked my stocker by quite a ways, but I was unimpressed with the turbo lag in technical manouvers. Maybe a guy can get used to that lag and ride accordingly, but I was happy to trade back to my stocker. I just purchased a 2014 carryover 163 and am also debating turbo, BB, or Nitrous. I still have a 2006 summit X with nitrous as a backup sled and it has gobs of power, but the chassis is just too heavy compared to the new machines. But boy oh boy does nitrous make up the difference.

I'm looking for quick throttle response and reliability. I ride between 6K and 12K. I would have a specialized shop do the mods, but its hard to choose the best shop to do the work.

Last season I ran a new 14' with Carls 900, clutching and their 3" track.... tried a friends Pro w turbo... I did not like the boost "on" boost "off" lag nonsense...hated riding it.....couldnt wait to get back on my sled.....I just love the crisp linear response of a NA engine.

ive been on a turbo since 2008. going to try the RKT 858 this season and am super excited. my regular riding buddy wont get a turbo so its not as much fun being the only guy with one. also tired of running out to the airport for fuel the night before riding.

with that said ive been contemplating an 858 turbo ..... argh

I think you should look closer on the mntk turbo. It sounds pretty crisp. Might suit your riding style.....

That is the group that I was talking about in my previous post. I am mainly a tree rider, and have been for years. I have owned a couple of turbos, including a M8 that was awesome, but not the same throttle response as the MNTK Pro. They include the mapping, new flow tested injectors and everything you need to pull and go. All BS aside, in the trees when you get on and off the throttle, there is ZERO turbo lag, only crisp clean throttle.

holy cow thats what you call a clusterf**k or a stuck fest !

AND IT LOOKS WONDERFUL :face-icon-small-hap

let it snow
