Turbo my 2012 Pro (read a lot about failures) or Buy 2011 TM8 ?

Cat is by far the leader in turbo applications, and I'm not sure if your talking about the new proclimb chassis, or the old M8 chassis.
I wouldn't bother with an old M8 chassis, they are fun but OLD, you feel like your riding a bathtub after being on the newer sleds.

The turbo pro is the funnest sled I've ever ridden, however you are correct in worrying about the motor and the motor problems have nothing to do with a turbo.
The fail rate with the 11's has reared it's ugly head, I haven't heard about any 12's so maybe poo has improved on something.

Ahhhh that's a little harsh. Maybe if you're thinking '07 and older M chassis. '08 to '09 got better yet, and a 2011 M8 is a pretty sweet ride. My Pro is great, but if I came across a brand new 2011 M8, I would take it over paying a whole bunch more for a newer sled. I love my Pro, it's really been awesome, but I loved my '08 M8 too, that sled was awesome. Maybe your bathtub comparison was from like an '06 RMK to the current model. That would be correct :face-icon-small-win

Since you brought it up, I picked up a 09 TM8 for 10k last year from "tree boss" because he wanted a pro. I put another 1000 in it and it would straight up kill a pro for the same money. A little more effort in a few places but just as capable and would take you a lot more places, at least for my riding style. But a turbo pro would be fun as long as it holds up.

I came across a really sweet 2010 TM8 for what seemed to be a pretty low price on here in the swap meet last year and was seriously considering it. It had a little under a 1000 miles on it, so a few bucks into it to make sure its in tip top shape to start a season and I woulda had an amazing machine. I love M8's. I love my Pro. It's all about what you can buy for the right price though. That's also a big reason why I went to the Pro, it really excited me to begin with and I got a great trade in for my 2008 M8. Couldn't sell it for much more money and Cat wouldn't give me anywhere near that much for it.

I call BS, seen lots of TM8's (never had a bad day on mine), but there is a reason I would call twisted also. Who installed and tuned those kits.

sorry I should have been more specific....I was refferencing the PRO, not the M8. Most guys that I have talked to with TM8s seem to have good experience them....the PRO on the other hand, not so much.

I am going to get flamed but here it goes, the reason you put oil in your tank is that when the intake charge comes into the motor it can wash the piston and the ring of any lubricant/oil that is on there. If there is oil in the fuel it still can be washed but there is SOME lubricant. That is why most people that are having to replace their top ends are seeing ring/piston damage right where the intake transfer port is. I can't speak for everyone but I was told that if I could talk my dealer into tearing the top end a part that is EXACTLY what I would find. Guess what? They were right. They also told me to rebuild and run oil in every tank. Guess what? I am going to run oil in every tank. I spoke with a lot of people about it in the last two months and it sounds like I am not the only one to be having this problem on the Pro 8. Guess what? I can't tell you any of their names since they could feel the wrath of Polaris to their businesses.
