Turbo+Heat shield on the pipe?

Has any body with a turbo pro, removed the heat shield on the pipe and have the pipe ceramic coated?

Do the pro pipes crack at the seams?

I'm looking to install a turbo kit and would like to install a coating called "white lighting" from swain tech and not run the heat shield. I would like to no if this is a good idea are not?

Personally I think the stock heat shield is going to do a better job of keeping the heat in than any aftermarket coating.

have a 12 turbo pro with cover removed, and ceramic coated y and pipe. 400 miles no cracks or trouble.

Eventually the pipe will crack at the seams. Dont know why but 3 for 3 so I quite doing it. Maybe the pipe cools too fast without the shield. If I wanted best heat soak I would coat it and still use the heat shield. But I vowed to never go there again it ruins a good trip if the pipe cracks.

My pipe cracked with the stock heat shield, the bung for the pipe temp sensor broke out.

my brothers did too with stock shield cracked wide open and burnt the hood,has anyone tried any other pipe ?

I run the Swain tech coating, and have for years. I do not believe that the silvery "ceramic" coating that everyone else uses, does anything at all. THe Swain tech stuff is awesome, and definitely does a good job keeping heat in the pipe. As far as cracking, I have had the same issues with my turbo sleds cracking the pipe at the seam with the stock heat shield on, as well as without.
