Turbo Apex vs SC apex

Get yourself a turbo and don't look back. MPI is not the greatest for customer satisfaction, they plain suck ***. If you want ultimate reliability get a MCX. Their updated Apex kit is 290 HP on pump. They run FLAWLESS ! JMO

To begin with i see only pros with boost, if i must find any cons it must be that my wife nagging on me because i am out and drive my sled so often!
To chose between SC and Turbo is not easy, they both add a grin on your face, but, what i heard the customer support from MPI is not great, so if i would buy a SC i would buy it from Hartman, many have had issues with tuning them in and get the right pulleys for the right boost level. If you buy a Turbo choose MCX ;-), if you want trouble free driving with alot of HP thats the one that have it covered and have proved it for many years.
If you want the best throttle response with the most HP choose an Impulse kit, they have also tuned it in very good, being a front mount they have the best throttle respons, but for daily use they also may have issues with heat, and is pretty new so time will tell.
Happy boosting.

I have an Alpine/ Powderlites RX1 and I raced an MPI charged RX1 and he had me for about 10ft and then it was no contest plus he was forever flooding it and had no support from MPI. I rode an RX1 the same day with an MCX rear mount and I could feel the lag compared to mine but not annoying by any means. I would take a turbo any day over the supercharger. Both Alpine and Powderlites have been excellent support and Paul from impulse seem to be a top notch guy as well. Pick your kit to suit you because its a lot of money if you are not happy.

Turbo!

I bought my Apex in the fall of 2005, rode 800 miles stock and in jan of 2006 installed a stage 2 280hp MPI kit for $6k + extras, in the next two seasons of riding I put on just over 200 miles, trust me I will NEVER EVER run a SC again!!!! fuel boxes watering out, always playing with the fuel box!
I removed my SC kit sold it for 2500, and installed a turbo which is what i shoulda done in the first place.
I tell you they are more responsive out of the hole, but on top they hit a wall! and stop pulling.
With my stage 2 pullies running 100% race fuel (110 octane) I could pull my buddies MCX (260hp) by about 5 lengths, but after that 5 lengths it was all over he would blow by me. now you gotta remember that that was the old MCX kit, they are even more responsive now!
I highly recommend the boys at Quantum Velocity Performance in Red Deer! they know their s**t!
Hope this helps!

Anybody know of any turbo apexs

Thank you for all your replies, does anybody know of any turbo apex's for sale? Besides the one's on the swap meet on snowest? Thank you

I 2nd everones opinion. MCX turbos rock. although i have a SC i would rather ride a MCX apex. i have had so many problems dealing with MPI it is insain. i dont even like to think about it. but once i got all my problems with them ironed out and talked to some one and found the fuel box specs i sould use my sled is wonderfull. i love it. running 12#s on pump gas having never taken the motor out is a good feeling. i used to go though blower belts about 1 per 100 miles. last winter about half way through i got it figured out and rode the rest of the season (800 miles) and didnt even look at the belt. if you want insain bottom end power with - lag i would say buy a blower from hartman. i have heard great things about him

I'm pretty sure it's 7200 CAD and it doesn't come with the display. You don't need the display, it's just for if you want to do any fine tuning, it'll run good the way it comes. You will need a boost guage, tether and clutching that don't come with the kit.
