Tunnel Box Mounting

What are some ways everyone has mounted a rigid box/ pelican case/ or similar to a matryx tunnel. Looking to mount some type of box on my 23 RMK, and unsure about going with the JDSCustoms packout mount plate or doing something a little cheaper. Thanks!

Amazon box, 1.5”x2” plastic from local wholesaler, handfull of stainless bolts.

Spanned the factory mounting holes with the plastic, countersunk some button head stainless bolts into the plastic and bolted the box down.

Have like $120 total into this, including the shovel mount, does exactly what I want it to do.

Cant get any cheaper than this. Buy of the smaller harbor freight knockoff pelican boxes. They fit perfectly in the width of the tunnel and they even have multiple colors. Lay it about 3" behind the seat and gas tank and drill 4 holes and put bolts with nylon nuts. Its been flawless for a year of very heavy abuse of whoops, trees and kicking on it. Still Water proof and all. Maybe 30$ at most invested into it. This was on a 155, Id do a double check and make sure you don't punch through your cooler but it shouldn't be an issue unless its a 146.

RIDGID box on mine .
How did you make the plastic mounts for the box? I like that its setup like the lock and ride flex equipment. I have a non slash RMK so my cooler runs about 8" behind the seat making it hard to drill unless i mount it farther back or utilize the lock and ride system somehow.

You can buy all the LOCK AND RIDE parts but it's not cheap. I did use the lock and ride system.BOX6.jpg

I paid 150usd for the parts. I also paid 150 for a bag that I robbed the parts off of. The parts were back ordered so I bought the bag. 150 in parts was without bolts and nuts.

Except the box style keeps everything dry. And they last . I have one one my 19 and it's still in great shape. You cant say that about the bags. the only down fall of the box there bulky and more weight if that's important to you.

Or use plastic and bolt it on. I've made several sets of my own style.

You are missing the rubber pads on the back portion of the lock n ride

Yeah I know. It just kind of floats with a space in there between it and the tunnel. I was actually thinking of making up some kind of rubber pads to attach to the underside of the box at the very back.

I have Cheetah Factory racing Lynq adapters on mine, and a JDS Customs milwaukee packout plate, and a milwaukee packout box.

I swap it between my Lynx and Poo.

Harbor freight 3800 case is 40 dollars and about 32”’of 3” wide aluminum strap

Use carriage head bolts or rivets to mount box to strap. Factory front bolts and some stainless button heads to mount strap to the sled using factory holes

New box I 3d printed a mount and rubber strap to mount shovel

Here is some better pictures of my box, after 2 years I’m still loving it, keeping the shovel together and easy to grab for stuck dig outs has been perfect and exactly what I had in mind!
