TSS Fit Kit and Intake

Most of the questions I've been getting lately is about the TSS fit kit and intake. Here are the pictures to show you what the release is going to look like.

The KTM/Husky battery bikes will require some trimming (rotozip, you can hand cut it with a sawzall blade, etc) for the airbox to clear the top subframe along with removal of the stock intake boot. The boxes are around $50 from KTM (my KX box was $110 lol). You'll be able to see from the pics the general idea of what needs to be done. There are plans for future methods to allow the rider to keep the airbox intact. Since you will just trim the box you will be able to retain all your stock plastics.

The Jap non-battery bikes will require the intake boot AND airbox complete removal. Bikes like the KX you can re-rivet the airbox sides and install the stock sideplate plastics to keep the factory bike look. I'll have more pics of the Jap bikes tomorrow that I will amend this thread with.

The intake is a couple pieces of silicon, injection molded plastic, and a shortened Boondocker style air sock. You will be able to adjust the position of the unit to bend and conform it to your particular location. There is also a mounting space for the stock temp sensor.

Can't wait for the snow to fly!

looks good, thanks for the pics, i just wish the 90 didnt put the filter so close to the exhaust. i ran a similar set up a few years ago and the exhaust would make a lot of steam if you were stopped and with the bike idling it would suck it in through the filter sock and it would freeze. maybe this wont be an issue at all, i guess ill find out soon!:face-icon-small-coo

Could I get the diameter of the silicone 90 that the sock attaches to? Is it the same for all the bikes? And what is the height of the air sock? Wanting to order a filter I can attach to it.

Have any TSS been fitted to a 2015 Husky? The plastic subframe/airbox has us wondering... 2015 FE501.

Yes it has. I have the 15 FC450 and it will require the same trimming like the KTM version. The box sits inside the sub frame so no special modification because of the material. The box will have to be replaced just like the KTM (and it's around $50 too). Here are the drawings for how it comes apart/together.

great post! This makes it look like the track will be throwing snow up onto the filter though. is that not the case?

Hey everybody, we finished the initial fitment and evaluation for the KTM 300 class bikes. XC and XCW.

Good news. The OEM air box and battery all stay in place. There is however two spots that need trimmed. The lower lip where the boot inters the box. A small trim there about 1" wide, and the right side lip that holds the OEM rubber boot in place needs trimmed to not contact the new wire cage.

The box and forward roost protection are all in place and unaffected. We will post pics and detailed instructions.

Thanks
