True sled weights measured

That's so strange that the sled that did "the best," was made by the same company who made the video! And that company also happens to build the heaviest 800 on the market and feels a need to justify it. Would have never guessed the outcome on this one...

Yep...since it wasn't an indpendent study I'm sure it was somehow rigged. Maybe they used non-eth gas in the cat, and eth gas is in the other 2 sleds, being eth gas is 10% heavier. haha!

Correct me if i am wrong but the Polaris was the lightest sled in the shop and the lightest sled on the mountain. Right!!!

The only thing this video proves is that there are a lot more areas on the POO and DOO chassis to collect and retain snow then Arctic Cat.

If it just mattered how much snow each sled carried along it sounds like AC wins and Ski-doo looses that battle but if you are looking for the lightest sled on and off the mountain Polaris wins. That is the wonderful thing about statistics you can arrange all the number around to prove just about anything you want.

But the Polaris is still the lightest weight? And I'm sure that when you ride a cat in a similar manor as the polaris and doo that there wouldn't be ANY snow on the tunnel. I would tell polaris to change the design so snow can't sit in the middle of the tunnel like that, but its always nice to have for the ride to and from the back country because it keeps the sled cool.

I like the closing line in that video, "who cares how much a sled weighs when it leaves the shop"? Uh............I do, because it doesnt get ANY LIGHTER:face-icon-small-shoBTW-full disclosure- I ride a Cat:yo:

I find it comical that anyone would make a buying decision based off of the difference in weight from one 800 2 stroke to another.

...and not the reliability if the engine or durability of the chassis and drivetrain components? I find that interesting as well?

Link is broken. Anyone save it? I heard it's hilarious.

I can almost GUARANTEE you that someone is in trouble. This video pops up, publicly made by a couple of Cat guy movie stars:photo:, gets a lot of attention quickly, and freaks out the upper management type.:face-icon-small-sho That video was not fair and balanced and it showed. I tried searching it straight through Youtube and I cant find it again. I bet they are recovering from a severe :whip: for that.

its not independent. Regardless of who did the "test" It would benefit no one if they fudged the numbers.

It makes quite a big difference the amount of snow retention the sleds have. Being lightweight is great staying lightweight even better.

I had heard this information the first year the new cat was released. surprised that its just now getting out.

I am amazed at how wide the initial gap is, and something i am quite sure all the manufacturers are looking at, because it is something consumers look at.

All the manufacturers advertise numbers to their benefit.

doo power to weight.
cat weight retention
poo -- -- -- -- oh its flickable.

That compared their top of the line sled the ltd model. What about the std Pro Climb? Also Polaris offers coated running boards and tunnel wraps. So, if you had the Pro with tunnel wrap that is offered during snow check or at the dealer would it really gain that much?

They also used the SP instead of an X model. The Cat didn't RETAIN it's weight, it just didn't add as much-alegedly:face-icon-small-win

I believe they said the xm gained 90 pounds. That would be like 11 gallons of water. I have a really hard time believing that. In fact I don't believe it.

Mine comes into heated garage after each ride & thaws dry.
I believe half that amount would be an exaggeration.

Hey guys,
If you polish your tunnel snow will not stick to it, those guys should be embarrassed trying that BS angle, thats retarded.

wait, let me get this straight, those two dudes are the super secret back country test team for AC? and they agreed to the final edit of this video?

Link still worked for me.

That's so stupid...Poo still the lightest but it remained more snow making it less superior??? I fail to see the marketing logic here...
