Truck Wheels & De-Icer

I have one of those 2.5 gallon water fire extinguishers that you can refill at home. It takes about 2 minutes. I fill that up with water and "Salt Away" and keep it in my truck to rinse the brakes, wheels, and trailer as soon as I am done launching my boat in salt water. It works on the boat, so I am sure it would help on your truck. It also leaves a protective film behind.
I know some of the guys who surf launch dories in Oregon, use garden sprayers with a diesel and oil mixture to pretreat their undercarriages. That sounds like a mess to me, so I'll stick with the SaltAway.
I plasti dipped my wheels last year and it has held up well. I don't know whats going on under the dip, but it looks like new on the surface.

SALT-AWAY

I'm sure this has been discussed before; but do you guys do anything to protect aftermarket wheels from getting pitted from the henious chemicals they use to de-ice the roads?

I have a new truck with new wheels this year.

I figure I'll go to the spray & wash on the way home to pressure wash the underneath as well as soap up the wheels.

Any secrets?

I use "salt-away" and a hose sprayer. try to do it after every trip in the de-icer. Seems to work great. :amen:
