Transferring Warranty

I am looking at buying a used 2012 Pro, and am curious how the warranty transfer works. The owner says that the sleds warranty is up next month (Dec. 12) The sled is black and has red a-arms so I believe it's a snowchecked model but not buy the owner??? Could I buy additional warranty from Polaris, if so what does it cost?

Thanks!

Have a dealer punch in the VIN # on their computer and it will give the exact date of warranty expiration. Remember, it's the sled that is warrantied, not the owner, so if you only have 1 month left, I wouldn't even worry about getting it transferred. If you are going to purchase additional warranty, you need to do it before the first year expires. Cost can vary from dealer to dealer, so shop around. It's not cheap. Tri City Poo has some decent prices.

Been down this road and learned the hard way. The original purchaser has to sign off on the warranty papers, to the buyer and can only be transfered once for $25 fee. If the original purchaser does not sign the transfer papers, then you are screwed. Not sure on extending it when it is not in your name. Some dealers (I won't name anyone) won't do warranty if it is not in your name, which is total bs as far as am concerned! This was my experience/lesson on this.
