Trailers stolen, I got an idea

CTS tracking solutions out of edmonton alberta(certified radio) has a wicked set up for trailers . its a track stick . it has i life span of 3 years! set it in and forget about it ! the problem i see with most of the other ones is the fact that the battrey life is kinda short. how bad would it suck if youre trailer fitted with GPS was stolen and you couldnt track it due to a dead battrey ?

Problem is they get off with a slap on the wrist,
SPOT tracking only transmits for 24hrs, then must be manually turned on again. good thought tho...

Who said the cops or judge have to know about it?
If they (cops) don't have the time or resources to help and/or look and the judge/DA doesn't have the legal recourse to put them behind bars why let them know??
The "System" doesn't seem to be working right now.

Whatever can go wrong will go wrong. Better have the trailer insured.
Someone familiar with the legalities in that area should review any plan because it is not worth the effort if the theives get off on some technicality.

Screw the tracking device just let 10 guys who have had there stuff stolen wait inside the trailer...once you've hung a whoopin on these bone heads they're faced with a real dilema, if they report the assault they have to admit to robbery.(better than the community service they'd get through the courts)

If they took the trailer with the 10, it would be against there will, they were just parting in the trailer (man cave) and some idiots came and stole em!!! So now you have robbery and kidnapping charges....Be Careful
It's Kinda funny all the people list all the toys they have under there post trucks snowcats dirtbikes boats etc. It sucks but these scumbags could be on snowest shopping and finding out who has what. And we all know where alot of big turbo $25,000 sleds are there in Canada! So you might want to be careful telling everybody what you have.
P S when you catch them kick them in the nuts for me.

This is exactly what I was thinking--Lojack and call it good--No batteries to worry about or turning on. It has been making a good size dent in thefts in our area--I believe it has a 48 hour average for finding the unit stolen.

BugGPS is not live tracking. You must wait until the vehicle returns.

Whatever system is used needs to provide a trail to the location and not just a location. Most of the satelite devices won't even work under the gas pump canopy. A high tech group of thieves might put your toy box in a moving van and head out of the country invisible to satelites.
