Tracks usa ad

If members have to resort to ad blockers......keep in mind they also block all your other advertisers. Not just the annoying ones. Maybe we could just lose the flapping crap in the corner.....

admuncher removed that one for me. I am using Chrome though. I am sure one of the ad blocking programs can deal with Christophers nuisance ads. Funny SW is the only one of the 10 major forums I am on who intentionally pisses members off (That pay) with this lame tyoe of advertising....all in the name of " its getting the name out so its effective......:face-icon-small-con

Yeah, I'm just using the free trial of admuncher right now. Every other ad is gone though. The tracks usa ad folds open but the ad is blanked out. Computer is much faster on all sites. I'll just buy the chrome package you talk about and solve this problem. Since they are unwilling to get rid of it, I will see nobody's ads. Kinda sad for the other paying advertisers.

Firefox also blocks all the ads. I just verified.

Sure sucks to one of the other paying sponsors........... Maybe they can help our cause.

Snowest management.....it time to pull you head out of the sand.

I am using Googles "Chrome" web browser and it is free. Just download it and admuncher will block "tracksusa" from irritating you any further. :face-icon-small-coo

Here is my suggestion.

If you really HATE the pull down ad in the top left corner, fire off a nice message to TRACKS USA and let them know how you feel in a polite message.

This is THEIR AD and their goal is to get YOU to buy from them.

If they hear from enough of you they may ask to have that feature turned off and just use the normal banner add across the top of the page. Its only there because they asked for it...

Yep, I figured out how to block with firefox too. Just download ad blocker plus. It's free. The tracks usa banner is there but that is harmless. All other ads gone. On other sites too. Computer way faster now. Definitely recommend if your on dial-up.

As Christopher suggested.... Email them and let them know that you don't like this form of agressive ad content.

Email address for Tracks USA...

info@tracksusa.com

Also....

Email the advertising director for SnoWest and Harris publishing... Gregg Manwaring

gm@snowest.com

Tell them you would like an "Opt Out" choice for the paid members of this site.

Let your voice be heard...it is the American way.

And Canadian way too!!:canada:

I have....They do not respond.

The new iPhone app tapatalk doesn't have that peeling corner. In fact there are no ad's. I'm starting use this more than my CPU.

But it is Harris publishing that put the ad there and can pull it, admin can you hear us?

Admin hears you but has no say over advertising on the site.
My understanding is that Tracks USA is pretty happy with the response that new feature is generating in the way of sales. Apparently its a very effective advertising technique even though it is bothersome to some people.

I think this is a screen resolution issue myself.
Those with larger higher resolution screens don't seem to be having nearly as many problems as those with small laptop size screens.

I wonder how the other advertisers on this site feel about us all starting to run ad blocker programs because of Tracks' great sales idea? Sounds like it will hurt Snowest in the long run.

Maybe a response from TracksUSA is in order. They have certainly read this thread. If they are afraid to stand beside their annoying decision maybe a boycott is in order. Voting with your dollars is always effective........

What is the old adage? Any advertising is good advertising, or something like that? If people were sheep, yes. These days people are having to watch spending, and get the most for their buck, BUT there are MANY places to get deals on tracks. Personally, Tracksusa has been in my head for the last day or two, so in their minds their advertising is working, but I won't ever buy anything from them again. Not just because they have irritating, intrusive ads, but because they are seemingly fine with them, even knowing that they are pissing people off.
Firefox downloaded on my computer, works great, blocks all that moving, popping up junk. Sorry other advertisers, blame Tracksusa for your paid ads being actively blocked by many of us.

19" and it still bugs me.

It's not a screen size issue, it's an annoying as hell issue. We didn't pay money to have adds pop up just cause we were off 1/2" with the cursor.
