track width vs. lenght

Kenny
Last do or die ditch effort. In Jan. "05 cutler used a F7 with a 151" 13.5w A-20 equipped sled. Did the A-20 come in 153? This sled ripped due to the narrow track and 205 bhp 1000 engine. AmSnow said it went anywhere a 15 or 16 wide would go! It sounds like it needs to spin at higher speed to get the job done! Cutler himself said it would eat one of his 1150's alive in a dragrace! Just give them a call @ 801-224-5505 and see if they have something for you? Otherwise Try to get as much track on the ground, Not up in the tunnel? Shallow up the approach angle etc... If you can lighten the sled further, I bet it would go just fine! Also what track do you have now?

A 2.5 seems like it should work well, Maybe it augers too much as a A-20 would float better with the laid down paddles? It looks as though you have room on the tunnel lg. to maybe run a 156 and still get cooling? 153 may be the ticket, Too bad the PC has the narrow cleats at the sides! A sleds floatation is based off lbs. per sq. in. of contact area. If you and the sled are light, You should have an advantage, But width helps!

For powder riding you definately will gain performance with something other than the extreme you are running... Unless you spin that thing really fast!
That track hooks up like no other, but also scoups all of the flotation out from under you.

3.5" skid setback made a huge difference on my F-7.
