track issues

So today I was climbing and noticed a ratchet sound coming from the sled.
Discovered that some of the small rubber lugs are missing and others are damaged. I'm running the stock drivers which look to be fine. How tight can I make the track and will this fix this problem?

niko.

only thing you can do on a 900 is tighten the track a little at a time till it stops ratcheting or install anti-ratchet drivers. tightening might not help if you have already damaged your track

Polaris tracks LOVE to be piano wire tight to keep from ratcheting...

Rode yesterday with the track a little tighter and all is good.
Now I've got to get the clutch off and do the bushes. Once I've got the clutch off the shaft do I need to screw out the spider?

Nope... the spider will stay... you can pop off the cover, remove the spring and give everything a good cleaning right on the sled if you like with the spring compressing tool... heck, you don't even have to pull the cover or spring off if all you want to do is service the weights.

The weights are good, its just the pins and bushes that I need to replace.
Remember its a comet clutch I've got not a polaris one. I was told the whole clutch has to come off to get it apart.
