Torsional Conversion - Best Option?

Looking at getting a torsional conversion for the secondary on my 08 M8. I am looking for input on whose kit works the best. I have looked into rk tek and CPC's. I like the idea of the quick change helix and springs the CPC kit offers. Who runs these different setups, and what worked well?

Thanks.

I run the CPC set up and have had very good luck with it.
My sled has mechanical reverse, so no issues with that.
Very nice set up, easily adjustable, great instructions, great machine work, and great performance over stock.

I have ran the D&D, RK Tek and the CPC. All have pretty comparable characteristics. RK and CPC you have to purchase there helix, DD you can use any original 05 diamond drive style helix from a # of manufacturers. RK back shift will throw you over the bars if you are alittle tight, once I got it dialed in it had explosive up shift 09' reverse is still on the table for review. CPC helix is 82mm where standards are 80mm so if you have a lathe you can open up old style helixs', performance wise, this conversion mimicked Cats reverse cam (before diamond drive) closer than either of the others in my opinion. DD was middle of the road, just didnt feel as strong in the a$$ dyno!
RK with Dalton weights (94gram) pulled like a train!
Sled was a 09 - 1000

I run the ovs kit on my 06 m7 and gort 10 mph more track speed. I also run the rkt kit on my 09 m1000 and got 8mph more track speed. I lost my reverse with the rkt purely because I have the 08 helix. Ive seen the D&D kit work well on a m7, a CPC kit workin well on a m1200 and bdx kit that worked phenominal on another m1200. All in all you get better upshifting, backshifting and more track speed with all these kits...............

I've made my own conversion kit (use Cat -05-06 helixes) and it's been working good for three seasons. I Don't know how much I gained speed etc as my sled has changed a lot from stock (CF 7 -06). Main thing is: no more black marks, no more inconsistent upshift or downshift - it just works everytime I hit throttle :)

So get one and get suprised :) D&D sells really cheap and good looking conversion kit (uses -05-06 helix). I'm going to get one as my DIY kit needs complete disassembly of secondary when I change spring tension.

How easy are the torsional kits to use? I am extremely clutch illiterate, i know how to change my weights and spring in the primary, remove the belt and take off the secondary but thats it. I have never done anything with clutching, but would really like to. Any setup suggestions for an 09 crossfire 800 141 with 2.25" powerclaw and slp pipe kit?

I guess i could add that i ride 0-3000ft ditch banging at home, and 4-7000ft meadow riding, boondocking, and some hill climbing.

A torsional is very easy to use, and gives you 5 different spring pre-load options (depending on brand)that can be done in about 5 minutes.
I have learned clucthing using torsional set-ups and by trial and error.
Usually the manufacture's recomendations are pretty good, and if you experiment with spring preload it is pretty easy to figure out which direction gains performance and wheather you need a different spring/helix.
Helix swaps are still involved, requiring complete disasembly of the driven.
For tuning/experimenting, definately easier than a compression set-up.

I was checking out cpcs torsional conversion kit i think it was like $300 and they have a quick helix change system or something like that and says is takes like 5 minutes to change the helix with their kit, I like how theirs looks, and has some features i havent seen from other kits. Anything bad about cutlers kit? I also kinda like the Rk tek kit, but people havent been able to get their reverse working with it so i probably wont go that way.
