Yep, Supplicate riding frankinsled. It was always fun to see him just to see what he broke, bent or mashed since last time.
It got old being recognized in the parking lot by non-4m members after the second time someone said "Hey, weren't you that guy the other day that broke __________?"

Is there ever a timely crash into a tree?
yeah, actually there is... i have a retartedly large fold up saw that is VERY sharp... just cut em down and keep riding... its kinda sad how prepared i am for when i hit trees. i dont even fix the front bumper or i would break it everyweekend. im just not worried enough about how my sled looks to not try things, if i end up rolling oh well.

i ride a lot of shorter steped hills, so when i crash the sled always seems to roll, but luckily it doesnt go to far, i think this is the only reason my old sled can still run.

It's sorta ironic reading this thread after the recent thread of "How to Tighten The belt" with the recent economy going into the crapper.Some guys just have more money than others I guess. Personally I feel sick when I break something on my sled. Plus, I'm gettin old and heal up way too slow to take unecessary risks. To each their own however! :face-icon-small-hap:beer;

I break my share of stuff but a freind of mine had a '02 or '03 RMK completely used up in one season. sold a few parts at the end of the season and took the rest to the dump.

There's a thing called "Mechanical sympathy"
It's interesting to see 2 people who ride the same places and do the same things, one of them has a machine that it junk and the other is clean
Same for every thing, dirt bikes, street bikes, sled's, whatever
I aint one of the hero's but I do get to ride with a few, from what I see the best riders dont break much stuff

I agree with what was stated above. I had a sled that I rode for 3 seasons completely trouble free except for a belt. I sell it to my buddy and within 2 weeks its hood is zip tied together, a arm is bent to hell, clutch is fried and suddenly it overheats all the time. He thinks I sold him a POS but I told him look at the rest of the stuff you own.

Some people are just plain hard on their stuff.

This was first ride out beginning of last yeat went into an area that usually has a few feet of base to it, but not this time, better known now as the stump field , after me and buddy got stuck just touching a few stumps we dicided we better get out of there, turned around and had throttle up to get out of a rut and Bang!! or thats what I can still hear in my head, as I hooked a stump under the snow with left ski stoppin the sled instantly and pitching me under about 3ft snow I had dislocated my shoulder and elbow temporatily, I pushed my arm out , heard a pop in my arm and I beleive it went back in place and instantly started feeling better but way soar and stayed like that for about 2 weeks, but we did go other places to play rather than riding directly back to the truck even with a huge difference in ski alignment, LOL

i think everyone breaks something sometime. but i also think it has something to do with how you treat your stuff. i have a friend that has burnt down 3 dirtbikes in the last 2 years. i told him it might have to do with the fact that his airfilters have never been cleaned but he thinks im wrong. moral of the story is take care of your $hit so when you have an "accident" you can buy your parts.

My thoughts exactly. Sorta like when i bought my 04 800 Rev and all the fuss on here about how they "ALL" let go at 2000 miles. My tech said he hasn't seen anymore REVs than any other sled in his shop. "It's all in how you treat and maintain the machine". I not only maintain my sleds, but I don't abuse the Chit out of them either when I ride. I do enjoy "watching" guys abuse their machines though:face-icon-small-hap

Caleb there's easier ways to check your track tension.

Just sayin'

I try and push my modest skills every ride but I try harder not to wreck my sled. If I wreck it I'll have to deal with my wife and I make it a point never to have to deal with my wife

I was pretty lucky last year. rode 38 times on my 600 and put on about 2000miles and only had to replace a limiter strap and a moter mount! but that was just on that sled...the one time i took out the'old trusty Indy Lite becuase i was waiting for my motor mount and i sent it off the road....now i need a whole new belly pan! lol

My biggest problem is my ego has more ability than my skills do.
I have never totalled a sled, but I have busted my share of stuff.

I don't break to much stuff, but I have had to straighten my fair share of kinks. I'm usually way harder on myself than my sled but with my advancing age I ride with full body armor now. We ride with a 20 something year old guy that always has to take the hardest line. We are forever pulling his sled out, and jerry riging it back together, but he makes for some great entertainment.

yea but my problem is i ride hard and dont wreck much you can call it skill or cautious id like to think skill lol, but still break stuff and you can ask anyone i ride with i take care of my stuff its all the weight durabilaty factor is the problem were starting to push it to the limit

I maintain the crap outta my sleds, so they don't get bad, just wish the rivets would hold a little better, seems like there's always several to replace, and I have no idea why?????? It's just riding right?
