Tony Grove/Franklin Basin Snow Conditions

Were was everybody?

Took a spin up to Tony Grove today, it was fantastic! Rolled in just after the storm finished its dump, I would say anywhere from 10-20" of fresh powder. only a couple other groups up there all day long. We had so much fun around the lake that venturing off to far was not needed, I love Tony's Grove in fresh powder.

I saw that snotel was showing about 10 new... lucky I need to learn how to
pay hookie from work in the middle of the week... :)

EDIT: went up today..(sat) parking lot was packed
just went on a fun quick ride with the wife..

I would guess at least 20 inches fresh around the lake, lots more up higher.

Yesterday

Went riding up to Tony's yesterday. We had a blast!! The snow conditions were awesome, especially up high. Couldn't have asked for a better spring ride.

One thing I love about going up Tony's is that the parking lot may be jam-packed, as it was by 8:00 A.M, but there is so much riding area you hardly see anyone. We didn't run into anyone until we got way up high. Everyone was gathered at the base of a hill, sorry don't know the specific name, watching a couple tricked out Yamaha's tear up the mt.

rode up Franklin yesterday boss canyon was great so was our secret spot. Went over to St Charles Peak was able to see the Tetons first time being up there. Anyone over at Competition hill around 1pm-2pm yesterday?? Who was there watching/joining us doing the drags up the hill?? What a blast it was yesterday..

Great Spring Riding!

Steeps, Boss, Whites and our secret area was undisturbed as usual nice ridin' on Sat up Franklin. Did not make it to Comp went almost 60 miles and only got to the backside of Whites.

Haha... "secret spots" I would like to think I have some of those... Then I realize I left tracks in the snow!
I'm jealous... Had other things going on and I need my fix.

rode up franklin on thursday and wow up high there was atleast 2ft it was one of the best days all year. anyone go up today how was it?? could be going up tomorrow.

I might go up tomorrow... not sure though... its gotta be good, snotel had nice reports all week.

Fredly did you go up today?? it was soo good especially up high and in the trees. I was soo suprised of how deep it was in the trees it was perfect for boondocking. climbing was fun too. other than it snowed all day it was great.

You aren't kidding!
Guess I should have called.
Unbeleivable snow... Deep and soft... Had a great ride with my pa.
The sun came out in the afternoon.

Rode monte yesterday... Maybe 8inches of new but rock hard underneath.

anyone wanna ride tomorrow?? Spring break for me!! love this spring break best ever.. Did anyone go up to Franklin today how was it?? was up yesterday not soo great still some pow in the trees however. Should have a good dump tonight. can't wait for tomorrow.

It was pretty firm on saturday, some nice pockets in the trees and on northfaces
not too many people up there

Snotel shows a couple inches today... might get some snow..
I wish I didn't have to work.. but hey, gotta work to play sometimes.

Watch for slides if it dumps, it'll be a soft layer ontop of a very set up layer.

rode up franklin yesterday heres two pics of me from when i got stuck just to show how deep it was. only got stuck this one time haha

yesterday was one of those days you dream about.. deep pow nice skies(for the most part) and no one else around. down low sucked like usual but when you got up higher it was epic.

Unless it cools off and snows, it looks like hardpack riding from here on out.
Rode franklin yesterday, found some good snow in the trees and shaded areas, but got real warm and was mushy by the end of the day... Especially down low.
Pulled some good climbs and saw some sweet lines up a couple chutes.
Quite a few small surface slides, so be careful there and at tony's guys.

Rode tony's yesterday.
Pretty hard packed... There was 2-4 inches in some places, very few tracks and surprisingly enough found some decent snow in the trees.
Not many challenges as far as climbing unless you picked a technical line.
Pa cracked another spider on the 1150 so he rode the good ole back up 600PS.
Stopped in prov and picked up another billet spider from val simmons and drooled over his propane turboed yammi's.
May get to try them out thursday up to tony's (crosses fingers).
The weather probably won't cooperate though.

Are you guys still parking at the hwy or do you have to drive up around big curve before you hit snow?
