Do you prefer his work with.........

1 - Styx?

2- Solo?

3 - Damn Yankees?

4 - Shaw Blades?

I prefer his work with Jack Blades as a duo.
It's like those two were born to sing together!
Awesome harmonies.

Styx, if they could have only kicked out Dennis Deyoung years sooner...

You know - I seen a post like this somewhere else several yrs ago, and all I can think is that y'all don't know Shiite?

W/O Dennis DeYoung - there would have never been a "Styx", or at least not one that you would have ever heard unless you frequented the nightclubs in Chi-Town in the 60's / 70's.

Dennis wrote and sang more of the hits than anyone else even after Tommy joined up.

IMO Tommy was brought on board to be the good lookin' front man to get the girls to "listen" too.

I agree to a certain point,
but "Kilroy was here" is all the evidence I need to believe that DeYoung was trying to pull the band in the WRONG direction.

You know - the song Mr. Roboto does kind'a suck, but the album as a whole was really pretty good. I have yet to get it on Disk, so I miss it actually - but I still love the song Heavy Metal Poisoning. (James Young on this one)

Killroy is a concept album. Not really full of singles.
Doo you like Tommy? Quadrophenia? I really like Quadrophenia! Of course Paradise Theater had a theme going on too....

I'm skitso and so am I!

I have always wanted to see the movie - that was never released, but then I saw half or so of Tommy once (not stoned) and had to turn it off. So maybe it's best that I never saw Killroy?

Heavy Metal Poisoning was one of the better songs on the album.
I like most of the James Young stuff.
