Togwotee Rates 2008-09 jump!

Package rates look just about the same......

some of the late season rates might be a few bucks cheaper.

Cheers
Shawn

I have a brochure in my hand that Ipicked up at the Milwaukee snow show when they were there last month.

Here is a picture of it.

I'd hold them to what the brochure that skylar picked up says.

Seems to me if they were changing rates the paper info would match

If you go to book a room online then you can come up with cabin/room only rates. They look about the same as last year from what I can tell. It would be nice if they would post it somewhere on the new website. Love going to Togwotee and hope them the best with the new owners. Hopefully it doesn't change too much, it is way too popular! See everyone out there!

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!!

I tried every spot on the website looking for non package stuff and not one thing came up. They had specials etc but nothing that didn't include GARBAGE extras SUCH AS CRAPPY FOOD, ESPECIALLY THAT HORRIBLE BUFFET BREAKFAST!

We need to call or e-mail that lodge and let them and ARAMARK know they better have a Lodge room and Cabin rate ONLY for the diehard sledders instead of packages.

I really hope they have forgot to put it up on the web or something because it's going to alienate a lot of customers, matter of fact our group couldn't afford to stay there with those rates!

I'm going to start another thread about this so we can get more exposure.

RJ, did you even bother to look at the picture I posted that showed that they DO have cabin/room only rates? I posted the same picture on your other thread.

Kris, not yet, but, no worries, just waiting a bit to see what Farmer Joe says.:) Kim and I will be there, even if we have to rob a bank!

When you picked up this brochure who owned the lodge??? Old owners or new? Iam sure the new owners want to be able to upgrade with out going in the hole? Lets wait until someone gets info from Ben or a call to the lodge before we go crazy and burn the witch at the stake.. Or before Jeff C gets on here and rips you a new hole.:) If we don't get any snow soon you won't have to worry about the prices..

I did, but I went to the site and did the book now thing on the left of the page and no where did it have those rates last night around midnight CST. I'll look again and if their is I will take back everything I have posted.

Kind of a screwy way IMO to book a room. It appears to have both the cabin and package deals when you use the book online tab in the main page. If you go to the winter rates they don't show it there but the online booking page has it. Weird.

Sorry for any confussion and I have deleted the negative posts regarding this.

Happy Thanksgiving!

New owners, once I got home I checked on line and the prices from last year were still up on the web page, and the brochure had the new prices. Plus, the brochure has the rental sleds listed as 09's and not 08's.

I was at Tog in March of 2006, and I thought EVERYTHING about the Lodge, and the surrounding area just plain fricken rocked! Even got directions to get out there from RJ back then, will be using the same route trhis year aslo.:beer; Can't wait until March!

Sad thing is their was no booze at all. Just jacked up on excedrin from a headache which I think may make things worse. Didn't go to bed till 230am when my normal time is 11.

I had some other stuff such as $425 tabs come due which is another Fleecing on top of a hard to use Togwotee booking page it was a bad combination, not to mention the 1.5 hours I spent with the SD DOT on Monday, a Subaru backing into the Super Duty in a parking lot in Chamberlain on top of two vehicle deliveries, training/orientation in the black hills and now time for T-day. I need two days without distraction!

i really think what people fail to consider is the total cost of avoiding the package to save a few bux. i dont know about you but, i am on vacation. i dont want to cook, clean up dishes, plan meals, ect... could the package be cheaper? yeah i am guessing.

but think about what you get on the package. a clean room, made up daily if you choose. breakfast, (a good one not continental) guide service (if you need this alone and you arent on the package, it is 45.00 per person per day, not inc tip for the guide) .10 off per gallon of fuel (not huge but, it is nice they offer that), 10-15% off in the proshop (full line klim, snobunjie, tna gear, and gifts). happy hour, 530-700pm every night free beer, and some well drinks, and horsdouevers (better than a sharp stick in the eye). then you have the full line dinners (awesome). they have a bar if you want to drink more than happy hour or after dinner. is it cheap? NO, but where is drinking in a bar cheap? byob, hang in the room or cabin. it's not rocket science.

now if you stay in dubois, jackson, ect... you are at minimum riding the trails to get to the good play areas, or towing and driving at least 35 miles twice a day. then you have to cook, clean, go to the store if you are out or missing anything. what did you really save???

like i said i am on vacation, i aint got time for anything but riding and sleeping. i want someone else to worry about the rest for me. and the lodges do a great job of making sure you are comfortable.

my .02 flame away!
ski

I agree with ski 100 percent, I too am on vacation, and I don't want to clean up and cook, plan the meals, bring along the food, blah, blah, blah.I was out there for my first time in March 2006, I thought the lodge was great, the food was great, the snow was great, etc etc. We did the package plan, brought our sleds though, and I will be going again this coming March, and can't wait. Yes it is expensive, which is why I can't afford to go out every year. Also, I don't want to trailer anywhere when I get out there, every time I head to the yoop for our 3 day trip every month, and sometimes twice a month, I have to trailer the 4 hours to get there. It is awesome to be able to ride from the lodge, in my opinion anyways.

Now, that being said, if you have someone like RJ that goes out once a month, and has been for quite a few years, he probably doesn't need a guide anymore, and it is definetly cheaper to just get the cabin only rate, and cook their own food and stuff. So I can understand his initial frustration.:D
