I agree it will be crowed around TML ...But Its a big area and plenty of room for all

Save your self some time and go south out of Rapid City thru Hot Springs to Lusk to Orin Jct and then to Casper. All good roads. It will save you time and miles. Just a thought.

Thanks Wax ..... you are very right about that route ...I am just tired of it ...Lets see went that way Last Oct 2011 out to Sema and Back ....Then in Jan to Togwotee and Back and again in march togwotee and back and again this Oct back to Sema in Vegas .......Me gonna try the other way for ones LOL
We were thinking alike regarding missing the crowds! I'll be out there the 19th-23rd.

I would guess from Toledo Iowa jump down on I 80 and take it all the way to Rawlins Wyoming and come north from there
Thats what i thought also, but several groups from Waterloo, always take 20 all the way. A lot of the Iowa portion is 4 lane as of 2 weeks ago.
We'll probably be going 20 all the way this time, been both ways. plan your fuel stops thru Nebraska if at nite

False. Hwy 20 is 2 lane all the way through my great state of Nebraska save a few short sections. The speed limit is 65 once you get west of Plainview I believe. not sure on exact 60 to 65 split location due to us coming from Norfolk on 275. It's 65 all the way from Norfolk to Dubois other than going through towns. After Sioux city, be sure to have enough fuel to get to O'Neill, and then enough to Valentine. Definitely fill up in Valentine at night, because stations are sparse until Gordon or Chadron.

Leaving here at 5 today will stop for the night either in Mitchell or Chamberlain ...then we head for TML in the AM .....Thinking I will go either the Lusk, Douglas , Casper way or over Gilette depends on what the weather and roads look like when we get that far .....
