Wel guys, after thinking about it a lot I was wondering who uses dip, chew or smokes? I've noticed a lot of people out riding who will stop for cigar breaks. A good friends dad stops to pack his lip a lot. Sounds like a waste of time if you ask me. A lot of my cousins chew and I can see the addiction.

Dont start as it is a very hard habit to quit...i chewed cope for 22 years and have been off it for the last 2...

The guys who are sucking on cigars probably do it when they play golf too.

It's probably something they do to satisfy their or@l fixations when the "wife" isn't with them.

I smoked for 10 years. decided that chewing was a good way to clean out my lungs... wrong! Was so hooked on chew i had to start smokin again to be able to kick them both. My problem was i could chew at work, so once i started chewin, i found i had a dip in my lip all day. I would go 5 minutes without, then another one went in. DUMB DUMB DUMB!!!

I do see many guys taking breaks to grab a smoke while out riding. I would ride with a dip in most of the time, so never really had to.

Btw, currently going on 7 weeks without either smokin or chewing... Nicotine gum sure helped me to quit.

i think smoking is the worst.ive smoked a pack a day for 17 years and ive tried chewing to quit smoking and wind up with a dip in my lip and cig in hand.any doctor will tell you that smoking will eventually kill you.i have found that you can be in really good shape and smoke tho.

I have friends who chew Copenhagen...religiously. It is to the point where their whole lives literally revolve around chewing. They all have to move the chew around their mouths because their gums are so beat up they can't have it in one place. I have seen them in scenarios where they aren't able to dip and it is absolutely painful to watch. Twitching, jittery, pretty much the same symptoms as crack addicts have. Don't start, don't even try. Nicotine is so wildly addictive it is scary.

Not sure about the rest of you but my snowmobile addiction doesn't leave much room in the budget for any other addictions, especially the ones that will kill me and take me off the sled any sooner than I have to be :face-icon-small-ton

Heh, many of my highschool friends smoke. I saw them over break and they bummed me a cig. The first puff I took I coughed like a B1tch. They all laughed and told me all about my virgin lungs. I laughed and asked them to run 4 miles with me. My habits wont kill me that is for certain.

I ride with a guy who chews, and whenever he gets stuck, which is a lot,:face-icon-small-fro we tell him that its the dip in his lip weighing him down.:face-icon-small-hap But seriously he has been trying to quite for the last couple of years and he still can't kick the habit. And its expensive we tell the same guy that if he'd quite he could go and by a new machine withe what he has into chew.

agree with the rest, don't try it

i started chewing 7-8 years ago in high school for the quick "buzz" with the mentality i could quit any time, i was wrong. by the time i got used to it and the buzz no longer happened it was to late. then i started smoking on top of that, did that for a little over a year til i got tired of waking up hacking my lungs up every morning. stopped the smoking like it was nothing, but chew has been a different story. I've cut back quite a bit but having a hell of a time kicking it. made it a month with no chew once, but that was the longest. tried the gum a few times but it just wasn't the same, plus its so dam expensive its cheaper just to keep chewing.

Nothing says kiss me like a big wad of chew.

Guess I'm good to go!! :face-icon-small-win

In all seriousness, don't start either. I'm getting pretty close to 20 years chewing, hard to quit. Don't really have the desire to yet I guess is probably a big part of the problem. I like my Copenhagen, and it's one of the few bad habits I have left. Rarely drink or gamble anymore, used to smoke - quit that several years back - that was actually pretty easy to quit. Got to the point that the cigs just tasted like $hit. But I havent been able to kick the snoose yet.

I've done 'em both and have to say I liked smoking a lot more even though I'm an asthmatic... that's right a smoking asthmatic. I've chewed more than I've smoked probably because of this. Quit smoking twice and quit chewing three times now...going on 2 months now. Get mad cravings for either only when I drink which I'm trying to quit as well. Really isn't worth sacrificing your health for a short buzz (if you can even get the buzz anymore). My dad smoked for 30+ years and had his first heart attack almost a year ago. Can't imagine how bad his cravings must have been for the first month or two going without smokes.

I've never chewed or smoked. Don't see the reason to spend all my money on stuff that is gonna shorten my life.

Don't ever start chewing

I did when I was 13 and rodeoing....Copenhagen snuff
I'm now in my mid 30's and can't kick it

My wife chews longcut Copenhagen and has since she was a teen too
Honestly, I think she's cute with a dip in, plus if I run out I can bum one of her girly copenhagens

We both need to quit, but I'm sure we'd kill each other before the chew ever has a chance to
