Title??

Do I really need one for my sled? I bought a 02 Polaris a couple of years ago in ID and the guy I got it from had traded a 4 wheeler to get it and the guy he got it from traded a guy out of UT for something as well. So neither one of them had a title issued in their names they just signed the UT title. Well the DMV was running me in circles trying to figure out what to do when I finally gave up because there wasn’t an issue registering it so I said F it at the time. Now I’m starting to wonder if I screwed up if I ever want to sell this thing in the future. Thought maybe it really isn’t necessary, I bought a 1985 Ski Supreme Boat one time and the DMV told me the title was a waste of time for a boat older than a 1995. Thought that was a little wired but went with it and didn’t have any problems selling it like that. Anyone have a similar experience or know what I should do to get a title?

No title needed in Colorado, all you have to do is sign that you are the legal owner.Seems kind of foolish since were talking about sleds that cost$10,000 or more

In Montana a title and bill of sale are required to register or sell a sled. If the original has been lost you can file a lost title form to try and get a new one. Maybe ID has something like that?

In Idaho you need a title to register and get your sticker. You can get by for a year and maybe two, after that they won't sell you a sticker - personal experience:rolleyes:
