Tires, can't make up my mind!

TOYO MT E rated, Cooper STT D rated or BFG AT E

All junk!

But out of those cooper may last the longest. My dad had them on his 2500 duramax and he could get 15K-20K tops out of them!

If your looking for an alterain. I'd sugest General Graber AT's. I've owned two sets and about to buy my third. First set was on my ranger and walked away from BFG at's on traction and longevity. Had 50K on that set when I sold it and were at 1/2 tread. Current set is on my F350 and tow heavily 3-4 day's a week. Handle my 7-10K lbs great and with a good rotation regement. I'm sitting on them with 55K miles right now and they are finnaly to the wear bars. And will be replacing them with another set of Grabbers soon. Take a look at them and try them out you won't be disapointed!

I've run the Cooper ST's in the past and just put a new set on my work truck yesterday. Excellent all around tire IMO. Not as good in the mud as the STT's but better everywhere else.

Buy the Hankook DynaPro ATM RF-10s. Better than the BFG A/T on ice, snow and excellent in the rain. Cheaper than the BFG and this will be the next tire to contend with in this price point. Have almost 20,000km on my set and they have very little if any wear on them. They are quieter as well than the BFG. They are getting excellent reviews everywhere ! Toyo's just wear out too fast, check out any of the forums and see whats popular.

I put general grabber at2 on my 250 this month and have been more then happy with the tires on the slippery/snowy back roads i live off of.plus they where 200 dollars cheaper then the toyo's and still had a 60,000 mile warranty

I've been thinking about going with these for dedicated winter tires. You can get them studded as well. The price is awesome. I've also considered the DuraTrack, but I'm worried that they could be annoying driving down the road. They look good though.

Curious how many miles you've put on Toyos to say they are junk? The best non-studded snow tire I have used is the Cooper Discoverer M&S, incredible traction in icy conditions.

"JUNK" may have been a little harsh. I have not run them my self. But have had family and friends run various Toyos on everything from s10 to a 1ton chev. Non have lasted more than 20K miles and were not beat on. They have all switched away from them and will not go back.

But you have a problem. Comparing the M&S to any mud, all terain or heavy duty tire on snow. Heck pick up any snow tire from any manufacter and you realy can't go wrong. But they have there limitations. If your looking for a tire that can do it all the grabber is the best I've found.

I have had a few sets of Coopers on cars and have been very happy with them. My dad has ran them on his duramax since 03' and has put a new set on every year. About 15-20K miles or so. Me on the other hand I put on 50-60K + miles a year through rain, sleet, snow and ice.

Can't go wrong with a BFG AT or the grabber's. I would buy either one without flinching. Grabber's are a little better deal, BFG's look a little more agressive. I have had many sets of BFG AT's on a few different vehicles and they've always performed well....never got a TON of miles out of them, but I must be a little hard on tires cause when I hear people getting 50K miles out of their tires I'm always   :o

I am now running the Hankook's MT/R came from a set of BFG's. Quite a bit louder on dry pavement. Worlds better in snow/mud plus you can stud them.

I run the cooper stt ,,love them semm to work very well..
i had the toyo mts they worked well too,,,but the price diff between the two is huge,,toyo are e rated coppers are d rated, plus the cooper in the same size are 13 lbs lighter,,made a 3 mpg increase on my dodge 5.9 gasser...i could not see the point in putting on the e rated tire on my 1/2 ton

Had toyo MT 12.50/35/20r and only got 25k out of them I now changed to Procomp Xtreme A/T They are still a very aggressive looking tire, which I like. They have a 40k warranty , Toyos have none. these are the only "big truck tires I have found that have a warranty. I have 30k on them right now and still look new. The are pretty quiet, best tire I have ever had.

I have a set of ProComp Extreme MT's on my 2001 Chevy 1500 and had been very happy with them until the roads got icy. Was going to get the AT's but was told that they had problems with them and discontinued them.

I have run all three sets. I found the STT's and the Toyo's to perform equally, however i Got a longer life out of the STT's and since there cheaper there the clear choice for myself. I also really like the BFG's, They are better in winter (road) conditions then any other i have had but the STT's did well, and off road summer or winter are hands down better. I seem to be going back and forth between the 2, currently running the bfg's but that's mostly because i can't bring myself to take my new truck off road yet lol. Oh and BTW every set i have had were 285/70/R17's on a 3/4 ton diesel

This guy says it all i have a set of 37'' toyos on 22's and absolutely love em and i also have a set of stt 37'' on 17's and they are a little better in the snow. I like the side wall and general tire apperance and really i havent had bad noise on the highway and that stuff would drive me nuts believe me.

Out of all the tires i would go with the Stt because they are cheaper and they are almost identical to the toyos. Let us know what you do

I went with the Toyo's after running many other of the other listed tires, but mainly for one reason.... The Load Range E rating... I also haul a heavy fifth wheel toyhauler and was surprised when putting the truck on the CAT scale that with my load range D ProComp's I was over the max weight of the tires. So if hauling heavy loads and needing one of the better offroad tires is important then you cannot go wrong with the Toyo MT's.

There are 2 types of tires, ones that look good on a truck and ones that are practical and actually last and do the job year round.
