Do the jackshaft bearings have to be bearing that allow greasing with the small holes in them or can you use a upgraded skf or ntn bearing and expect them to last just as long.

you can run whatever you want. just check em often. i did mine about 3 times a season
I don't think the greasing thing does SFA, there's a reason TS finally went to SKF bearings. I ran turbo Yamis with 90 mph track speed and never had a bearing failure on the jackshaft or drive shaft which also see snow. Use the best bearings you can find its about all you can do. SKF makes bearings which can tolerate more misalignment better than some of the others (read cheap Chinese crap here) which is the real issue.
