Had the same issue. Dennis Kirk half link is what I had to use until the chain stretched out (yes, the JT chain...which never broke). 12t sprocket just made it so loose the chain was rubbing the track... no go.
Plus one on the frame slider. You can make your own out of pvc if you have to. I have friends who did that and it works great. Dremel about 1/3 of it off lengthwise and snap it on. Can't remember the size they used but you can figure that out easy enough. I guess 1"
