No clutching or set up needed just run the M as is.

hmmmmmmm I guess I was done with them in 07, when they started adding to their already unwanted reliability issues. If I would by one it would be an 04. Oh ya then put new pistons and rings on it, and keep my fingers crosssed.

Thats funny . . I've had more problems with my arctic cats than with my doos. Maybe it means they all have problems. Snowmobiling is like mashed potatoes . . ya got to take the lumps with the good stuff, doesn't matter what brand you choose.

Owen has to have his semi-anual Doo bash.....

You could start the same thread with "AC", "Polaris", "Yamaha" and get the same results. Its an Owen thing.

the 09 162 m8 needs clutching at 9000 feet plus unless you want to run 7500 RPMs:confused:

All factory sleds run good these days. If you want them to run at peak performance, they will all need a little attention. Even the M8.

Owen your back from your trip and bored already !! LOL
You need a year around job to keep out of trouble. ;)

Owen,

Tell these people that the M8 was not undefeated in hill drags in IP.......

The M8 was impressive though and IMO is the sled of the year.

Sleds are like dirt bikes,,,,, if just buy it and ride it with out checking it over after you get the sled home eventually it will break. Seems like quality control and attention to detail during assembly are lacking skill,, when it comes to production......

Done Too

After being a loyal to Skidoo sleds, I've learned my lesson. I'm done with doo too! Love the sleds hate the reliability...oh wait, what reliability?!! The last one just put me over the top. The XRS was and is the biggest problem child on the market. If you can ride a day without something going wrong on that sled, it's a out-right good day! The best decision I ever made was to buy an XP(heard about all the problems with belts, drive shafts, etc) so I keep it in the trailer with 0 miles until it SOLD. What a relief!!!

Thank you CAT... my new MACHINE is reliable ....and hasn't let me down once! And I'll take it anywhere I took my doo!

I know in my group they are slowly converting over from poo to cat. i was the first and now there are three kitty riders and a few more of them that are planning on becoming future kitty riders. only two doo riders in the group and one of them is also talkin of convertin to the green team. finally they are comin to there senses.;):beer;

If my xp would have been a turd like the xrs, I would have switched too, so far 400+ mi, and I am in love. I will keep the xrs(new motor last spring) and tweak the clutching with DJ's help and hopefully have a good backup.

Hmm, I have an 07 xrs with just over 2000 miles on it. First motor went with 400 miles, but since then 0 problems. Most all 2000 miles are with the slp kit. Had it clutched right after 3rd ride.Worked even better after clutch upgrades. Passed a 09 xp so fast up a steep hill yesterday he asked if I had a turbo too. We were riding with a turboed nitro. Was supprised at how little it was modded. Maybe it was the 174 ;);). By the way the wifes 07 has 1950 miles on original motor with slp kit also. Neither sled has ever blown a belt and I put over 1200 miles on first belts  Man I love these turds!!!

I'm sure you will be complaining over on the arctic cat forum soon enough.

haha i agree to that, if all you can do is complain about one sled, you will find something to complain about another sled, all sleds require attention, even the cmx, racer-x, mountain magic, specialty sleds, ect still need to be fine tuned here and there

while all sleds need some adjustments to run at their best performance....skidoo seems to need more these days.....too bad, they have some good points, just that the bad outweigh the good....
