Throttle/Oil Cable

2003 1M 900

Broke my throttle cable and replaced it with a new one, my question is since the cable controls the throttle and oil pump (I think) on my first run with the new cable I was hardly using any oil (maybe 1/4 tank or less of oil to full tank of fuel) so I took it back apart and noticed that the cable was engaging the throttle before engaging the pump so I adjusted the cable to pull both throttle and pump at the exact same time. Now I'm going through 1/2 tank of oil or more to a full tank of fuel. I was not running hot on the first run, nor fouling plugs on the 2nd, is there a perfect setting? Should it pull each lever at the exact same time?
Thanks in advance for any insight...

Interesting, should I check these marks? I notice my 900 uses less oil than my friends 2 900's. Im still using about 1/3 a tank per full tank of gas. Does that sound normal?

That sounds about right to me fishtank. I think the oil tank holds three quarts so u r almost a perfect 50:1 ratio that Cat recomends for there injection.
